    Simple Probability

The numbers 1,2,3,4, .... , 9 are written on each of 9 cards, 3 of the cards are chosen at random. i) Find the probability that the sum of the three cards is equal to 9. For this part, I just collected the combination of numbers that yield 9: 1,2,6 1,3,5 1,5,3 1,6,2 2,1,6 2,3,4 2,4,3 2,6,1...

    Inverse

When you find the intersection between inverse functions, how do you come about approaching this? For example, if I have f(x) = square root of (x+6) and f-1(x) = x^2 - 6, I just substitutde f(x) value in for the x value in f-1(x). Would it be correct to do so?

    Mathematical Induction

(ii) Use mathematical induction to prove that, for all integers n ≥1, tanθ tan 2θ+tan 2θ tan 3θ+ +tan nθ tan(n +1)θ=−(n +1))+cotθ tan(n +1)θ. Thi question is ridiculous in my opinion. You can not even prove that when n=1, the both side of the equation satisfies. So, I missed the first...
