    Studying Before and After Sleep?

Definitely agree with this (but then it depends on the person) I got told in a study skills session that if you read your notes right before you slept, you were more likely to remember them. This definitely worked for me, but this is a memorisation tactic, not a studying tactic (:

    Failed ATAR already

Don't worry! I got 9/20 for my first assessment during HSC and was totally depressed over it. However, I kept my head held up high and did better in the other assessments and managed to get 94 (Band 6) in English! Nothing is impossible!

    Are lectures necessary to attend?

I'm going to Campbelltown Campus but I have to travel 2 hours to get there and back. According to my timetable, I have two lectures on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-6pm. Now, I may just be paranoid, but I seriously don't want to take a train at 6 and be home at 8, you know? So do I...

    TSFX lectures or equivalent

Agree with everyone above me. I went last year for Chemistry and yeah it wasn't a total waste of time, I mean that I learnt a few dotpoints but for 150 dollars, not worth it. I really don't think the people who have gone have a massive advantage other than the notes they receive (which are...

    Essay Advice

In my opinion, in English, there is no certain structure or way to answer a question. It all depends on how the student interprets the question, as well as the prescribed book. Considering this is Hamlet, this module is HEAVILY underpinned by the student's interpretation of the text and...

Doing the HSC with 13 units?

I did 13, and I got told by everyone, my friends my teachers, everyone that I'm doing too much. But I knew that I'd rather have a heavy load and be safe rather than let one unit bring my ATAR down. However, half of my subjects were easy (SOR2, CAFS compared to CHEM AND EXT 1) hence why it was...

I want to start Tutoring but ...

Hi everyone! Basically, I want to start tutoring for current HSCers, but I don't know if I would be the best person. I've seen the tutors on here and they have gotten ATARs like 99,98 and I got 94. I want to tutor in English and SOR 2 (my best two subjects) but should I? Or am I just not...

    Obtaining/Maintaining a good GPA

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to know how hard it is maintain a good GPA, such like 6.0? Sorry, I'm completely new to the whole university thing, and I'm really worried my GPA will drop below 5.0 (because my course requires a minimum of 5.0) My atar was 93.00 but it was with late cramming...

UWS advaned science pathway to B of medicine/ B of surgery

Yep, you'll have to do the UMAT exam in the 1st year, because they are only applicable for one year. and I would say 50th percentile in retrospect isn't that difficult to acheive but UMAT is used predominately as a ranking system for the interviews, so you'd be better off acheiving higher than...

Will my ATAR be completely different?

Thankyou very much both of you! You've both put me at ease! I did use both matrix and dux and I put my aligned marks in! Thankyou and I hope you both do extremely well and get into your desired courses!

Will my ATAR be completely different?

So the idiot that I am has only just realised that the aligned marks we got yesterday does not get used to determine our ATAR. Now, I put those in the ATAR calculator (I know, inaccurate, but I couldn't help it) and was okay with the result (93.15) Now that I've realised that those marks are...

Not so confident with my hsc

Hi everyone. So i finished HSC yesterday and at first I was so happy, but then when I got home I started thinking about my exams, and then came to the sudden realisation that I have done soooo bad. I don't know why I'm feeling like this now. After every exam, I was alright with it, there...

Is it true that you don't always do as bad as you think you have?

I hope that happens for HSC. I feel like I haven't come out from any of the exams happy or confident in my work -.-
