I'll be okay with General Maths. Already done some past HSC papers on the BOS website and they were, well, tbh, Year 9 and 10 stuff.

    Help? :D

As OJ said, you can't spot reduce. Try following a fairly healthy diet - Complex Carbs (60%), Proteins (30%) and Fats (5-10%. Yes, not all fats are bad for you :D) Also participate in: a. High Intensity Interval Training: this type of exercise is tough, less time is spent actually running...

    Should i leave school?

Just put in the effort for 1 more year, it will be well worth it in the end. Plus, it's only another 3 terms and it's all over :D You'll still have to put the effort in at TAFE, regardless. However, why do you want to drop out?

No fuss from me. Atleast with General maths, I will have time to work on 6/6 subjects properly, instead of if I went with Advanced Maths, which would only allow me to work on 1/6 subjects at full potential as it takes time. You're right, my subjects scale poorly, therefore I should spend the...

Are you looking forward to school?

I'm looking forward to going back, catching up with a few mates that I didn't see during the holidays and take up the challenge of the HSC. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. 48/51 terms in school life are complete. The thing that keeps me going is and wanting to get a good mark is...

Can someone please clarify this. I was always under the impression that the 10 best units were picked after scaling, and not before.

    Scale Down?

Around 85 or 90. Shadow, the thing is. If I'm aiming for an ATAR of above 85, I have to do good in all my subjects, not just Advanced Maths. If I continue with Advanced Maths, it will reduce the amount of time available for other subjects, and in turn will most probably affect my marks...

    Subject Advice

I don't do General Maths at the moment. Currently, I do Mathematics and am contemplating (pretty much 100%) that I am going to drop down to General Maths The ATAR is based on the 10 highest scoring units isn't it? So how can the lowest subject be factored in? Got any sources or links?

    Subject Advice

Glad you understand! :D One thing I just realised from your post - I forgot I had 12 units to play with! :D There's no certainty that General Maths will be included in my ATAR if I go good in my other subjects. Going good in my other subjects depends on the amount of time I spend on them. The...

Cheers mate! I sort of understand. I guess consistent high efforts throughout the year will be the way to go.

    Scale Down?

Haha. Maybe it's just me who sees it that way. I don't see the effort and time spent to get a higher mark vs the amount of scaling which increases the mark, match up. In my eyes, it's not worth it.

kyokaku92 and Aquawhite, thanks for the advice guys :) I was thinking the exact same thing as what you two have said but I wasn't too sure if I was correct. Boy, a bit of reassurance can go a long way. Nutcracker, I understand what you and DCH are saying, but simply put it - I really...
