    Study Discussion

Re: study time 65+ definitely. However getting over 90, as dp said, will be hard for you, mainly because of your english mark (remember english MUST count) and also your other subjects don't scale very well (except Chem and 3U maths).

    Bonus HSC points..??

I doubt it. Do you know how many asian parents haven't been to university, and have first born children sitting the HSC (myself included). If that was true, then I'm guessing half the state would get extra points.

Scalling in PHYSICS vs CHEMISTRY vs ECONOMICS

Yep, that's right. But seriously, with these three subjects - it doesn't make much of a difference. If trends continue, all three subjects will be ~ 30. 0.xx won't make that much of a difference.

    Highest UAI '09

Not true. You only become lethargic if you couldn't handle the pace. Most students find it highly rewarding, both experience and time wise.

How did you go in your half yearlies?

Re: 回复: Re: 回复: Re: How did you go in your half yearlies? OMG your results sound just like mine - especially in Maths and English and I'm in the same position in physics (well similar) as you are in chem and business studies as you are in french (although i don't have my final score/rank yet -...

Re: 回复: Re: How did you go in your half yearlies? Why? His school might set unreasonable tests.

The "I didn't go well in my half yearlies" Thread

I got screwed over badly. I lost 1st rank in like 3 subjects and all my results are ~ (70%-80%, except for two subjects, religion and business studies - I haven't gotten them back yet). Guess its hard work for me from now on. Hope it hasn't affected my final results too much.

    Getting marks back

"Hey mum, I got 100 UAI, but I'm choosing to go to TAFE... uhh because I like TAFE." I'm sure that'll work.

    Getting marks back

Don't worry. MX2 is a bitch. A lot of people stuff up MX2 exams, myself included.

Anyone regret their subject selections at the moment?

I kinda regretted not keeping English Extension I actually, haha. I would've rather had that as my extra units than SDD. I hate Software Design and Development so much.

    UAI estimates

+1 Aim as high as you can, but have a realistic idea of what you're gonna get. You won't be able to exceed your expectations if you don't aim for it.

    Getting marks back

Don't worry. If you do bad in your half yearlies, just work harder and make sure you do better in all other assessments, trials and especially the external HSC assessment. I stuffed up my half yearlies last year when I accelerated, still managed to get a Band 6, thanks to my External Mark.

    Getting marks back

Shouldn't be scared. Especially in Year 11. It's through results that you learn and improve.

    Getting marks back

It'd be nice to get our marks back. I think I did pretty well (except for 4U maths). But yeah it'll be good to reflect to see if I'm studying effective enough.

Better to finally get it over and done with I reckon.

    Hsc 2009 Dates

That's a good thing. Once you get your results, when people ask you what you're planning to do with your life, you can give a more meaningful answer.

has anyone prepared notes 4 english?

I'd write down key quotes and ideas in point form. That's all I do.
