i'm pretty sure it'll be 75 this year. last year ANU offered guaranteed entry to its courses even before they had any indication of the number of enrolments for the year.

for actuarial studies the killer course (of many to come) will be stat2001, which is done in the second semester. my friend kept up to every single lecture, did all the problems, and managed to scrape just a 72.

always has, always will. there aren't any programs existing in which one component is only available when coupled with another (i.e. bachelor of X can only be done with bachelor of Y)

hmmmm you'd want to get the micro text book. i always used it and always kept it in my bag.... in fact i doubt one can pass the course without owning their own copy lol.

damn. hey could you give me a rough indication on how i would fare in EMET? i've done essentially all first year subjects a commerce/finance kid would do (with a D average) and HD'ed two first year maths units (1013/1014).

depends if you want to specialise in a specific field in law... if you want to be a pure-lawyer focusing on criminal law then just a straight law degree should be enough. remember, specialising in an area will put another year into your degree, not to mention being 25% more expensive. you can...

trust me it won't get over 97.5. i don't think it ever has (maybe 10 or so years ago when it was 98).

i don't think they offer bonus points for double degrees. worse case scenario... apply for bonus points for law, do some arts electives and change over later.

are you doing stat1008? if so dont buy the text book as you won't need it.... i barely used 10 pages. bloody $120 down the drain. look outside manning clark, i bet you the first day of semester the boards will be spammed with notices selling text books. also the second hand bookshop can come in...

i wouldn't say all lectures/tutes is necessary.... i say attending 80% of them should give you a good standing for the course (i can only comment on first year courses)

most of those guys who fail are those who attend no tutes (for econ they are worth 15-20%) or lectures. i do b fin/b econ and i did a subject in which all IT students do in their first semester (comp1100)

crap. i have to do that next year in semester 2. i have a mate who literally skipped 70% of his lectures due to sheer laziness and HD'ed EMET. will two units of first-year maths (calc/linear algebra) help? how's the lecturer? also mind if i ask how you know x% of folks fail a certain unit...

i wouldn't agree with this at all. understand the material quite well, practice questions and exams, network with buddies to study with and i don't see why you wouldn't get a D/HD. the first half of micro 1 is quite straight-forward... i think the hurdle is when tax/subsidies/international...

same thing but i certainly wouldn't want to travel so far just to do arts. aim fpr something a little more prestigious like PHB in Arts or something.

what course are you applying for? i could give you a pretty damn accurate prediction because ANU's scores tend to be pretty static. also the popularity of some degrees can range from 10 (maybe something shitty like B Archeological Practice) applicants to 700 (B Comm).
