well the test is an "aptitude" test, meaning it's there to gauge your suitability into a course, not how suitable you are compared to others.

correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think you're competing against anyone in the unitest. you're only there to get a mark out of 100 or something.

if you know how to use your calc (i.e. plugging in an ultra long formula in involving square roots/fractions etc) without screwing it up, you're in good stead.

BUSN1001 is a mandatory course for all kids in the commerce faculty. seriously STAT1008 is a piss easy course. i put in barely any effort at all (although i did attend 90% of lectures/tutes) and probably put in 4 solid days of studying for the final (there's no mid sem) and i gotten a raw mark...

what econ/commerce course specifically? if you are choosing BUSN1001 (which you will have to), i advise you to do it in the second semester. the first semester has a pretty crappy lecturer as opposed to the second semester which the lecturer is actually pretty good.

Dayal teaches it... he's a really cool guy. funny too (i had him for 1014)... everyone loved him :D

i have a mate who scored 99.8 who does B Eng (Research and development) -> http://studyat.anu.edu.au/programs/4714HBENG;overview.html who has his uni fees paid plus his text books. two other mates who who scored 99.6 and 99.3 each have a $500 or so grant each semester to purchase text books...

i remember some IT/engineering nerds got together in the computer labs with their laptops/computers one time early this year and had a lan fest for 24 hours after their exams finished. (i guess this is how they celebrate... by sharing porn and fragging each other instead of getting wasted)

not really. at the end of the day you'll still be doing 4 subjects per semester... i.e. who's to way a unit of economics you'll be taking instead will be easier/less pressuring than a unit of law? as long in the end of the four years you do all that's required they dont tend to give a shit...

don't worry about stuff like this so early, you don't need to and youre only causing yourself to overthink.. you can do STAT1008 (it's kinda like year 12 statistics plus a little more thrown in, but it's piss easy). as far as electives go if you want you can always shove in some maths in there.
