    Raw Marks

I can't even remember, it was too long ago.

    anyone else sick of belonging?

It's not the hardest of the units, in fact I'd say it's probably the easiest. I did Belonging back in T4 and the whole of this year pretty much sucked.

    Who isn't sick of belonging?

That's irrelevant - they have a legal duty to provide the information to you within a set timeframe no matter how busy they are.

How to get your raw marks / Raw Marks FAQ

I've written up this quick guide for anyone who wants to make an FOI request for raw marks. (Mods, please sticky!) If I've missed anything please say so. This information is written in accordance with the provisions of the present Freedom of Information Act 1989, which will be repealed and...

    Raw Marks

I've now got my state ranks, which I've put in the original post, following a letter to the OBOS asking them to provide it. (They sent it to me several weeks ago, but I haven't been bothered to put them up.)

    Section 1 - Law & Society

I have received the definitive answer to this, which is (A), the Local Court.

'Outline the ciminal process from a crime being reported to a sentence being given'.

Re: 'Outline the ciminal process from a crime being reported to a sentence being give Wow, I can't believe I entirely forgot about stuff like early guilty pleas. :burn: Actually come to think of it I almost forgot to mention pleading completely :/

    Section 1 - Law & Society

I'm sure there were many of the examiners arguing over it in the exam committee six months ago... Well, we shall find out all in due course. *goes off to write up his raw marks FOI request*

    Section 1 - Law & Society

That's the main reason I'm being so defensive too :D I must point out that the question did specifically mention 'outcome' - the practical implementation of the rule of law, i.e. publicly known laws, unbiased judges and correct decision making processes, ultimately leads to the outcome of...

    Section 1 - Law & Society

Have a look at Wikipedia (yes, I know, it's not a reliable source, but for the purposes of a hypothetical discussion on an HSC students forum, it's reliable enough) - all three main streams of thought regarding the concept of 'rule of law' believe that the law must be known, and that rule of law...

    Section 1 - Law & Society

You can have justice in a particular case without knowing how the outcome will be beforehand, and you can know what the outcome is and it can be completely unjust. You're thinking more about equality than justice. Rule of law requires that the law be known, or at least knowable, and that all...

    Section 3 - Focus Studies

I wrote mostly about the efficiency of the court system, using the Less Adversarial Trials/CCP as my main example, as well as talking about the efficiency benefits of the Family Law Amendment (De Facto Property Matters and Other Measures) Act 2008 with regards to de facto separations. I also did...

'Outline the ciminal process from a crime being reported to a sentence being given'.

Re: 'Outline the ciminal process from a crime being reported to a sentence being give I included both detection and sentencing. About 2.5 pages all up I think.

    DPP thought our test sucked

Well, as much as I think our DPP is obviously a smart man and a good lawyer, I think most of his criticisms are unjustified. His first complaint is 'what is a focus study' - of course he wouldn't know that, he didn't even do the course. Some of his criticisms are valid though - I didn't really...

    Section 1 - Law & Society

The one argument I can see for 'natural justice' is that sometimes that term is considered to include the idea of 'justice being served', but in an Australian legal context we concentrate on the hearing rule and the bias rule, and I definitely can't see how those are linked with VOC legislation.

    Section 1 - Law & Society

I won't argue this one any more... I will point out to you, as a final reference, an official report about Dietrich from the Australian Senate: Parliament of Australia: Senate: Committee: Inquiry into the Australian Legal Aid System - Report 2 It is relevant that the Local Court has no...
