Tell of teacher you hate after last exam

+1. I have some teachers who admittedly aren't the best, but they do genuinely care and I'm not going to go tell off people who are trying to do their job as well as they can.

    Whoooos Breeezinng?

Me! Only Physics and Legal left, both of which I know I'll get strong band 6s in. I'm still studying, but not nearly as intensively as I did before English or Maths.

    HSC - massive anticlimax?

I feel pretty similar, except I'm not really someone who tends to get overly excited/stressed about things anyway. You sort of expect to go into your first exam and have this really strange feeling about it, but for me it just feels like any other test.

    Legible Handwriting

It's not the easiest writing to read, I have to say. I think it's probably to do with the backwards sloping.

    Special Provisions

I just asked the presiding officer to put me in the main room and she happily obliged :D The student at my school who has anxiety-related provisions has it bad enough that she decided to do her HSC over an extra year otherwise she felt she wouldn't cope.

    Special Provisions

You obviously haven't met people who actually suffer from these anxiety issues.

    Legible Handwriting

I'm surprised I can actually remember the name of the author, year 11 was a long time ago...

    Special Provisions

Well percentage-wise that's only around 5%, my school's more like 8%. It's not really all that surprising, there are quite a lot of people with handwriting difficulties, and there are a few with quite serious disorders of other kinds.

    Special Provisions

5 minutes per half hour (i.e. 30 minutes in a 3 hour exam) seems to be the standard rest time rate for pretty much all handwriting-related applicants. I don't know anyone who's gotten more, nor do I know anyone who's gotten less, except if they get a computer.

    Legible Handwriting

Your writing's not bad! Not compared to mine, anyway :p It's hard even for me. :( "Growing up requires conscious decisions and determination. Paquin begins the poem with the metaphor of a storm using images of pouring rain and lightning flashes representing the troubles and distractions of...

    Legible Handwriting

That's my English teacher's preferred example of my handwriting, from Year 11 sometime. I believe he's shown it to other classes as his definition of illegibility :p (It's improved since, and on the massive HSC writing booklet lines it's rather hard to write that badly...)

    Special Provisions

What percentage of people got special provisions at your school? I have special provisions myself (rest breaks 5 mins per 30 mins, extra writing time 2.5 mins per 30 mins, writer which I don't use), and there's two other people in my year (out of 35 people) who have them as well, one person...

Writing student number on every page??

Maybe you should point out to her the explicit instruction given on the front cover of the booklet, that says 'Write your student number and centre number on the top of every page', or words to that effect...

    Cheating punishments?

If they do punish you, you'd really hope they decide to give you 0 marks. If they declare your exam a non-attempt, you'd probably be deemed to have not completed the course, and since it's English, that means no HSC. Has the Board contacted you yet, and what does your school principal say?

    Raw marks FOI question

Thanks for that advice, bayan92! I was meaning to enquire into that myself. For the record, Stephen Parkes is at present their FOI Coordinator, so I assume that what he says is probably right.

    Raw marks FOI question

Yes, I realise they don't do anything to the writing booklets beyond crossing a line through each page, I think. Even if there are privacy issues with other identification numbers on them, they are still obliged to consider an application and consult with the people affected to get their views...

    Raw marks FOI question

You can basically do it any time that the Board of Studies 'holds' the 'documents' you are after. You could probably send it away in the second week of December, since by then they're announcing state rankings so obviously they have the results you're looking for. I'm intending to ask for my...

Thoughts on raw mark needed for an E4

45/50, as this is a 1-unit course, but yes, that is 90+.

That is somewhat true, I suppose :)

Thoughts on raw mark needed for an E4

I'm sure hoping it's 50s, my maximum mark is probably about 55/84 or so.
