    Gaming & Technology Magazines

I used to read Australian PC World. I can't be bothered anymore - so I just read stuff off CNet.

    Quad or Dual Core?

Agreed. I think if you were a full gamer, like as in playing all the latest games which need really good specs, then get a quad core. But for what you do Anna, which is mainly watching Anime, a Dual Core should be fine.

    Hsc 2009 Dates

Re: 2009 Key Dates. Yeah, they won't release the official HSC Timetable until sometime during the year. Also with the HSC results and the UAI, the UAI is usually released online and through SMS on the Thursday and the Board mail you your official credentials mid-January.

    everyones studying? ahh

I don't believe in having set amounts of hours to study. I have goals which I set out to do every day. If I finish them within lets say 1-2 hours, I reward myself with the rest of the day off. If I don't finish them, I carry on into the night until I do finish them.

Can you call people online as your friends?

It really depends in my opinion. Like if you know they exist - because you met them through a friend or for any other reason in REAL LIFE, and you just use the internet as a form of communication - then yes. If you just add them and talk to them without ever having contact in the real world...

Australian education system going down the toilet!

Exactly. I don't think the state government has much control over the actual writing and alignment of the syllabus - it's all done by representatives from the Board of Studies.

    Distant education/accelerating institutions

A lot of schools offer acceleration in one or more subjects, however I don't think they'll allow for complete acceleration - where you finish all your units ahead of your cohort. But yeah a lot of selective schools (such as JR, Syd Boys) as well as private schools (like my own school) and some...
