It's because the majority of students won't be able to get marks out of the calculation questions. But yes i do agree with you.

lolol ofc you can do chem. The calculation usually either involves finding out moles/mass or concentration. Make sure you revise these before the hsc because there's usually a fair bit of calculation in the exam.

Maaaaaaaaaaate. Chemistry is really important if you wanna do med! The calculation is usually fairly easy. Try some questions and you'll get the hang of it.

I take my time during the exam and write like half a page even for 3 markers. But if wanted to time myself, i wouldn't take longer than 2h.

No. Don't say 'I'll get into med if i want.'. Say that I'll get accepted in HSFY and then can try to transfer into med. The 'if i want' makes it sound like you can get into medicine as soon as you wish when HSFY isn't even medicine to begin with.
