    BBusiness (First Year Subjects) Overview

Depends on what major. I'm starting my Accounting major next year, but I could have started it earlier if I wanted to and left subjects like Marketing and Management (MPO) to my last year. So, you don't need to do all of the core subjects before you start your major. To check out the...

Re: The UTS 'Secks and w00t Holidays!' Thread Sounds correct if it was a yes from Jim. I'll try not to skip any classes for CMS lol. I've heard things like 30% fail rates or something. Not quite sure if they are true or not. My friend did Applied Comp Law last semester and he said...

Re: The UTS 'Secks and w00t Holidays!' Thread o.O I'm suprised. Jim said on the phone before that any subjects which were removed from the pdf would not be offered.. Yeah, I've heard Applied Company Law is fairly easy as well. That is why I'm mixing it up with ABC (fairly easy too?) and...

Whats this Diploma in Info Tech/Professional Practice?

It is an add on to the BScIT course. It is not compulsory and those who do not undertake the DipITProfPrac will only be awarded BScIT when they graduate. There are no limits on the places based on your GPA. But, you are required to find your own employment. Have a read on the new...

Re: The UTS 'Secks and Hope you were all ready since exams almost over!' Thread I don't think we get new student cards (except the 2008 students). Since last year (2007), they changed the policy that you would remain with the same student cards for the duration of your education at UTS (you...

    UTS or MACQ for MARKETING!?!?!

Don't choose your course solely on the travel situation. Attend the advisory days and get more information on both courses- and choose from your impression of which one is a better uni for you.

    Getting There

I think it is around 30mins. The info on the website is pretty limited (http://www.uts.edu.au/about/mapsdirections/shuttle.html), but I know for a fact that there is a more detailed shuttle bus timetable in the UTS Union Diary (free for all students in the beginning of the year).

    UTS HSC Bonus Scheme

It shouldn't be too different to the previous years (of 90-ish); but may increase due to the higher demand (from the Bonus Scheme). UTS' cutoff for B Business has always been pretty high though (a good 5-ish uai points higher than Macq general commerce cutoff).

Any '07 HSC'ers doing this course - B business/BSci in IT next year?

Doesn't really matter if they mix or not. Just take into account that for example- if you are only interested in internetworking and applications at the end of it- you would have taken 1 extra year to get there (BScIT takes 3 years, rather than BBus/BScIT which takes 4 years).

Any '07 HSC'ers doing this course - B business/BSci in IT next year?

To be honest, I don't think they mix well together. Reading your other thread, you said that you had an intent on sticking to the IT industry when you graduate, so I'd go for the BScIT (choice of 2 majors being the sole reason). The only major mixes that I thought were good (from reading...
