    Galvanic cell calc's

What mass of ZnSO4 do you need to make 200ml of 1M solution? ////same with CuSO4 Calculate the mass of 1 mole of both solutions. A 1M solution is 1 mole of solute dissolved in one litre of solvent, off the top of my head, so then you divide the mass by 5 to get 200 mL. Also, with...

Have I stuffed my chance of a good UAI

No, you have not stuffed your chances. This is only one assessment task. Compare your mark to others in the class. They may have done equally badly. If not, then you need to put in extra work for the rest of your assessment tasks to bring up your class rank. How much of your final mark was this...

remember the physics vs maths 2u? lol

Yes, because history has taught us how we have evolved to what we are today. I'm impressed. Four millennia of nearly unstopped conflict, war, famine, and fight for survival. And trust me, without maths, I think life would be a lot worse. A lot of people don't realise how important maths...

remember the physics vs maths 2u? lol

And say "you need to know about out past, to understand and appreciate the present and the future" Sadly, looking back on human history, the only thing we learn from history is that we don't learn from history. Maths.. is just numbers and squiggles that give people headaches. I'm not...

Best Graphic Card for 4x AGP??

nVidia has been ahead for a while in the mid-range market thanks to the 6600GT, but it took over the top end with the June release of the 7800GTX. Currently, it has the best performing GPUs across the the board, and we're waiting to see what ATi's next-gen card can do. I_F

    School Networks

Our school's network security is non-existant once you're registered for use. IM clients, P2P, I don't think any sites are blocked, and we can download what we like. The wireless has WEP encryption and MAC address filtering, so you can't get in without being authenticated, but once you are, run...

    Induction help :(

If a number is divisble by 4, and then that factor is divisible by 2, then that number is divisible by 8. E.g. 4 goes into 32 eight times. 8 is divisible by 2, so 32 is divisible by 8. 4 goes into 20 five times, but 5 is not divisible by 2, so 20 iss not divisible by 8. I_F

    Dehydration of ethanol

    The only other equations that you might need are glucose from CO2 and H2O (which I think is 6CO2 (g) + 6H2O (l) -> C6H12O6 (s) + 6O2 (g), not sure here), and the burning of ethanol (C2H5OH (l) + 3O2 (g) -> 2CO2 (g) + 3H2O (l)), which produces CO2 and H2O which can then make more glucose, to make...

second derivative and applications of calculus

Whenever a question asks "by considering the sign of f'x and f''x...", you must find the first and second derivatives of the function. You cannot substitute in points as that is not what the question is asking. The first derivative tells you the sign of the gradient and any stationary points...

    Dehydration of ethanol

You won't need an equation. The only one you might need is the one you already have - ethanol from glucose. From my understanding, this is all you need on that point: 6. Dehydration: The alcohol will then pass through a dehydration system where the remaining water will be removed. You...

    Dehydration of ethanol

You won't need an equation for it. It's basically like evaporating an aqueous copper sulfate solution to get copper sulfate crystals - no chemical change involved. Just mention it as a part of the process. :) I_F

    Induction help :(

    From assumption = (8-2k) + 6k+8 Shouldn't this step be (8N-2k) + 6k + 8, since N isn't necessarily 1? Since 4 is a factor of 8, it is divisble by multiple of 8s. If M = 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. then 4M is not divisible by 8. I'm not sure whether you're right here or not - if you work it...
