    attendanceeeeeeee

Re: best/worst attendance ??? I think I've only taken 1 day off for the past few years, and I took a week off in Year 8 because I was on crutches - but yeah, my attendance has been pretty good. Might take a few sickies next year to study though.

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? Guess I won't waste my time buying it - I didn't buy any study guides this year - so I won't rush and buy study guides until other people have used them and give me their opinion - don't want to waste my money buying something that's crap. Can't...

    Assessment Help Asap! Due Monday!!

There are a lot of texts which criticise society - however I'm not sure how they would link to your prescribed texts. I remember doing Robert Gray poetry - that was pretty critical of society - e.g. society's cruelty to animals, urbanisation. Sorry, I'm not much help.

    Preliminary Exam Past Papers

Yeah - go to the resources page. But your school should give you past prelims papers - I know my teachers give me heaps of past papers.

How long do you guys study for?

Hmm I might try going to the library to study after school for my prelims (still got a week left). Also I agree with the idea of studying everyday for a little - I wanted to do that this year - but I couldn't really manage - but I'll try and start next term.

Re: School captainincy nominations Congrats Carmen and Yvonne (told you you'd make it)! I finally know the real name of ☆ :p I've also made it to prefect (didn't make it to any executive positions - but I'm still happy with prefect). We have our investiture on Friday so almost a prefect! Good...

    2008 NSW Preliminary Independent Exams

I'm pretty sure the Independant Papers give guidelines for schools, so that they'll have to sit the exam papers (or at least give them back) at a set date - to prevent cheating.

New english syllabus for 2009 hsc (New AOS - Belonging)

True. Now you have to depend on your english skills and you cannot just depend on your regurgitation skills. A lot fairer in my opinion.

New english syllabus for 2009 hsc (New AOS - Belonging)

Re: New english syllabus for 2009 hsc?? I'm pretty sure the change won't have too much of an effect on us. Could actually benefit us - as markers generally would mark us easier (because it's the first time a cohort is sitting it).

maths ext 2 through correspondence-any good?

I would not do Extension 2 Maths through correspondence. But in saying that, it might work - just enrol at one of those coaching centres - they should be able to help you quite a bit.

Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides for Preliminary HSC?

Re: Recommended Texbooks/Study Guides? Same here. I'm thinking of getting the excel book, and I'm sure my school will give me the KISS Physics notes.

    UNSW Open day.

It's not a complete waste of time. I mean it's good to know about all the different universities and courses early, so it becomes easier for you to decide what you want to aim for - and if you don't care about that... you can always scab freebies. I went to the UTS/USYD Open days and I'm...

    Organising Work (merged)

Re: best way to organise books? Call me oldschool.... but I don't like using laptops. People in my school now have laptops and use it as a substitute for pen and paper... but I don't like it!

    Do you have a tutor?

I could use a physics tutor as well! I probably mentioned this earlier... but I go to a maths coaching centre (strict asian guy) but I'm not sure if I would benefit more from getting a private tutor.
