    I can't believe we're even having a discussion about waking up at 4 during the HSC lol. Please don't...

    Studying in the Morning=99.95

    My grandfather wakes up at 4am. He was in the military so I guess he's an exception but wtf he's so fit and he's 80 :\ Anyway yeah I tend to study better at night. I absorb information better and my problem solving skills tend to be at peak.

    Should I drop to Standard Math??

    Not really a valid reason imo. The only real maths in high school Physics is basic algebra. If she can do basic algebra really it doesn't even matter if she does standard or advanced. @elizant only switch if you do not want to pursue STEM in university because otherwise it would be unwise to...

    Optimisation Q

    \text{You must start with the equations} x + y = 28 \text{F} = xy \therefore \text{F} = x(28 - x)\hspace{2mm}\text{(Trivial from here)}

    dropping subject....helpppp!

    Make sure to memorise the hell out of the Sam D textbook. A lot of the time there is probably too much information in the Sam D textbook so what I recommend and this is what I did is to look at past paper questions specifically for whatever part your reading and make sure to absorb the amount of...

    dropping subject....helpppp!

    However iirc The University of Sydney has placed prerequisites on math for certain degrees such as Engineering and some other courses. Either way if you want to do STEM I would highly recommend not dropping adv maths even if you don’t do as well in it. In uni it’s much harder to catch up...

    Horizontal and vertical asymptotes

    iii) y = 0 \hspace{2mm}\text{Obviously has to be an asymptote. Just make x the subject, we get} \hspace{2mm}x = \dfrac{1}{y} + 1 \hspace{2mm} \text{. Obviously plugging in y = 0 will give an undefined answer} v) x = 1 is a trivial vertical asymptote because plugging in x = 1 gives 1/0 which is...

    Complex roots questions

    (1+ \omega) = -\omega^2 \hspace{2mm}\text{as}\hspace{2mm}(1 + \omega + \omega^2 = 0) \therefore \text{LHS} = -\omega^2(1 + 2\omega)(1 + 3\omega)(1 + 5\omega) = -\omega^2(1 + 5\omega + 6\omega^2)(1 + 5\omega)\hspace{2mm}(\text{Expanding brackets}) = -\omega^2(1 + 10\omega + 31\omega^2 +...

    Nice proof

    Yeah but if you just look at the equation x+x+....+x (x times) then how can you mathematically tell that you cannot do that. Sure you can factorize it and what not to show it but that equation alone doesn't show the flaw which is weird.

    Nice proof

    \text{I believe it's because you can't take the derivative of}\hspace{2mm}x+x+...+x \\ \text{with respect to x because it's summed 'x' times?}

    Handwriting

    LaTeX is waaay too inefficient to write notes. It’s used to make professional looking assignments and papers, not for notes.

    english extension vs english advanced?

    Extension is a higher level that covers different material that is also more rigorous and challenging in terms of textual analysis and whatever else.

    Comp Sci does have some challenging Mathematics involved. Do not drop to general but just try your best in Advanced. Do lots and lots of past paper questions. Less time reviewing theory and most time practicing questions.

    Funny on the topic of English drafts I remember one of my friends sent his essay to his teacher before the HSC that she never looked at (luckily he had a tutor), so after the HSC he sent it again. Her reply was sooo hilarious, it's like she thought she was emailing the dumbest kid in the HSC..
