I'm in sydney and I got mine today. My scores were: Section 1: 62 (92 percentile) Section 2: 63 (94 percentile) Section 3: 71 (98 percentile) Total UMAT score: 196 200 would have been nice :p but I can't complain with these scores.

Hmm, my teacher has told me that it's fine to assume cauchy's in an HSC exam provided the question doesn't involve proving it but I geuss he could be wrong.

Just use Cauchy's, it'd be a real pain otherwise.

I just got an interview offer from UNSW in my inbox :). It's twice a good thing because, obviously, it's an interview but it also frees up the time when they schedule the second round interviews so I might be able to see some family overseas.

And aboriginal studies is probably better than chemistry.

I'd study it :D. I could think of worse ways for someone to spend their time. I reckon it's a good thing if it's helping to keep people in school. 80% of what you learn in highschool is pointless anyway, how is this any different?

I think it might be ⁸C₄/(2⁸ - 2) since the question asks for '2 groups' so you need discard the two cases where you have all 8 people in one group or the other.
