How to get ahead in Physics

It's it normal that I completed Space all by myself in literally 7 days (I spent a few hours each day going through the topics)? I thought it'd take all my holidays to go through. I've covered all the topics and I understand them, I'm going to spend a few days doing some past papers and...

    Pure vs. Applied Mathematics.

Exactly my point. It's like 1/infinity, of course it's a very small number and can be considered 0, but it actually terms/approaches 0.

    Pure vs. Applied Mathematics.

    Then what is 0.999... + 0.1?

    anyone marking essays?

Hehe, you didn't get it, did you? I wasn't really criticising the teacher, I was just pointing it out... it was more of a joke, notice the "=P". And yes, the "An", was a typo. I could point out grammatical errors in your post, but I wont, since it'll probably lead to a flame argument.

    anyone marking essays?

An Year 12 English teacher? A bit ironic isn't it? You're an English teacher, you offer to mark someone's work when you, yourself can't even get punctuation correct =P

    B. Sc. (Physics) then M. Engineering (Civil) .. possible??

Usually you can do any postgraduate degree after completing your undergraduates. Isn't that right?

    Jacaranda Physics Questions

Maybe for the actual theory it is comphrensive, but as I said it's got really annoying questions that seem meaningless and stupid.

    Jacaranda Physics Questions

Yeah you see, the thing is that my teacher doesn't have a clue about Physics, and he will probably make us do them for homework (at least for Prelim he did). I wish I could switch to the other class, who has a better teacher.... (I had him for Year 10, and he was really good for teaching the...

    Jacaranda Physics Questions

Hi all, I've found that the questions in Jacaranda Physics are simply 'spastic'. I thought it'd get better for the HSC course edition, but it seems the same. By 'spastic', I mean they seem so annoying and meaningless to do. I much prefer doing Macmillan textbook's questions, and they seem to...

    Starting HSC work?

Re: Have you started hsc work yet? Yeah, we've completed Series and Sequence in Maths, and for Physics I've been doing work on Space during my holidays.

    Physics

You're right -- There isn't. I guess it's all to do with the fact that they wanted an average science teacher to be able to teach Physics (due to the lack of good Physics teachers) and because they wanted more girls to do the course, which doesn't make much sense because girls would've done the...

    Physics

Well, I think we did that in (actual) Maths, a long time ago... substituting. Of course you need to bear in mind that you actually need to know what the formulas do.

    It APPROACHES/TERMS 1.

    Pure vs. Applied Mathematics.

Applied Mathematics would be more useful in life (eg. for Engineering). I guess it's like learning the piano. Most people learn Classical piano first, and then move onto Jazz or whatever styles they want and play/improvise songs. We have a maths teacher at school, who comes from an engineering...

Are you only doing physics to get into engineering?

Would HSC Physics even help with University engineering courses? I mean, I think doing Extension 1 Mathematics would be more helpful/relevant than Physics.

    PHYSICS regrets!!

I wish there was Extention Physics that is more mathematically (calculus) orientated, like the old Physics course, which is still what is taught at universities. They've watered down the course so much that it probably wont help with any tertiary-level Physics/Maths courses.

    Desktop Mysteriously Vanished

You may have accidently enabled extended desktop, and the primary desktop is on the screen that isn't connected, so the screen you have now is just the "extended" part of the desktop. Disable extended desktop and it'll be all good if that is the case.
