Isn't centripetal acceleration basically Preliminary stuff? :P

    G force deceleration

It's the same for take-off and re-entry isn't it? When a rocket takes off, its acceleration is upwards. When a rocket re-enters, it decelerates downwards (negative acceleration, if up is positive, rocket is slowing down), therefore acceleration is upwards. Or to put it simply, the net force...

    Please Help

Don't blame your teacher. It's inevitable that you have a teacher that doesn't motivate you, but regardless you should be the one reading over topics and asking him every lesson if you're not sure. I have a Physics teacher who is at times, literally clueless about Physics. The other Physics...

    Complex roots of Unity Question

Hi, Thank you very much for that. Can you tell me what that theorem is called? I want to look it up in my textbook books, I don't think I found that it directed stated that. Thanks, Jason

    Complex roots of Unity Question

Hi again, I guess what I really don't get is, how cos-4π/5 = cos4π/5, and sin-4π/5 = -sin4π/5 With -2π/5, I can understand it, because cos is positive in 4th quadrant, whilst sin is not and thus becomes negative, but for -4π/5, both sin and cos are in the 3rd quadrant, so shouldn't they both...

    Complex roots of Unity Question

Yeah sorry about that, I've been driven crazy... I mean 2cos How about cos(-4π/5)? Since it's in 3rd quadrant, shouldn't cos be negative and thus give -2cos? I know it doesn't but this is the bit that I don't understand. Thank you alot for your help, I really do appreciate it. Thanks, Jason

    Complex roots of Unity Question

Hi all, I have questions that are driving me CRAZY, I hope that someone could explain WHY it is this way (for 2nd question)... Question are: 1. "If ὦ is a non-real fifth root of 1, show that 1+ὦ+ὦ2ὦ3ὦ4=0" [I have some clue on how to do this one, but it isn't driving me crazy] 2. "Factorise...

    aircon trains

There may be a K set that goes through the tunnel, but I'm not sure. For those that don't know, K sets are the trains that had air con retrofitted to them. When they were made back in the 70's (IIRC), only the first 4 cars were fitted with air con, and the rest of them were fitted with forced...

HELPPP srs think about this question

You got to be kidding me... sin-1 IS NOT 1/sin, not mathematically anyway. Since sin means finding the ratio of the given angle, "inverse sin" means the opposite, ie. finding the angle of the given ratio. You really do need to get a new online tutor if what you said is true.

How to get ahead in Physics

Dot point isn't really a textbook, it's more of a way to test if you know all your stuff.

    aircon trains

Yeah you do need to consider that the tunnel goes underneath a river bed, so obviously it will have a considerably steep gradient.

Applications of calculus to the physical World Q

Ek=(1/2)*mv2 (Kinetic Energy) -- Tell me how that can be negative, and don't say that mass can be negative either! Work done can be negative, but you need to define positive (ie. if work is done for you, or if you do work). With voltage it's a different thing they use imaginary numbers due to...

    aircon trains

It'll be interesting to see which trains operate on the Epping-Chatswood Line when it opens early next year, as Tangara trains cannot operate on it due to the gradient being too steep. They're now testing trains to see if they can push a dead set up the steep gradient.
