Teachers you tell you to drop a subject just so you can get a 'higher atar' are bad teachers. Do NOT take their advice. Always follow your heart. You want to study Science in uni and you love Chem. I would definitely encourage you to stay with it.

I mean obviously scaled and actually the term for it is aligned not scaled. If that was his RAW mark he would literally be first in the state lol. He would've gotten around 94/95 raw. Just short of a state rank, you gotta be amazingly good to get that kind of mark.

Yeaah I had the same issue. Doing 4u maths and the school forced me to do 12 units. You just gotta deal with it, I just did the bare minimum of work required for that extra subject. It's only a one term wait for you anyway

It's what you didn't do that gets you an N award. For example if you consistently don't do the work in a course or if you consistently fail a course etc. It varies from school to school though as some schools are more lenient. You may have gotten a warning for failing that 1 test or something...
