    CHEMISTRY OR LEGAL STUDIES

Teachers you tell you to drop a subject just so you can get a 'higher atar' are bad teachers. Do NOT take their advice. Always follow your heart. You want to study Science in uni and you love Chem. I would definitely encourage you to stay with it.

!!!!urgent help needed on moving schools

Both schools literally have the same ranking, they're always a few ranks apart, sometimes Cherrybrook is higher and sometimes Chatswood is higher. I recommended Cherrybrook because I know a lot of students who came out of that school, but both schools are at the same 'level', so pick which ever...

how badly will english standard impact my atar?

I mean obviously scaled and actually the term for it is aligned not scaled. If that was his RAW mark he would literally be first in the state lol. He would've gotten around 94/95 raw. Just short of a state rank, you gotta be amazingly good to get that kind of mark.

!!!!urgent help needed on moving schools

Really with any public school there's going to be 'those' kinds of people. I mean I've heard similar stories for top selective schools, although not anywhere near as bad. The best thing you can do is form a good group of friends who have similar interests to you. Stay away from bad influences...

    Engineering without HSC Physics

Yeah honestly not doing HSC Physics is fine. As long as you've done prelim you would have the basic ideas needed for the first year physics courses that engineering students are required to do. 4u maths is much more beneficial for Uni Physics than Hsc Physics. Especially 4u integration, this...

    IT

Unis are generally more organised than tafe. They also tend to have people that are more academically inclined for subjects like IT where it's necessary. Generally the level of education of a uni for 'academic' subjects is better and that's why most people will do like a diploma at TAFE and then...

My school forces us to keep 12 units until trial if you do 4u maths

Yeaah I had the same issue. Doing 4u maths and the school forced me to do 12 units. You just gotta deal with it, I just did the bare minimum of work required for that extra subject. It's only a one term wait for you anyway

how badly will english standard impact my atar?

Oh my bad I meant the old layout, there was no mc and the papers were so much harder back then.

    N determined from preliminary course.

It's what you didn't do that gets you an N award. For example if you consistently don't do the work in a course or if you consistently fail a course etc. It varies from school to school though as some schools are more lenient. You may have gotten a warning for failing that 1 test or something...

    N determined from preliminary course.

    N determined from preliminary course.

Then it's most likely a warning. You need to ask your principal ASAP, a warning is okay because you can redeem it but an actual N determination you can't redeem. You get 3 warnings before you get the actual determination and because you mentioned you have not received a warning previously, I...
