Another question, why do people say HSC marking is extremely harsh? What is it exactly that makes it harsh? I'm looking at getting a raw mark in the 90's and any help regarding insight into marking is appreciated

Anyone know what would generally be the raw mark required for 99 exam mark in PHYS and CHEM?

Your HSC mark will be 50% exam mark (based on your actual HSC exam performance) and 50% assessment mark (based on your internal school performance + how your cohort performs in the actual HSC exam). Hence, since he is rank 1 and you are 2, he will have a higher assessment mark than you no matter...

Definitely anything is possible but knowing you I'd give a 99.5

I believe the internal moderated assessment mark those two people will receive will be the average of the top 2 exam marks.

Actually I got an extra mark. Now for overall marks, they're on 90.1% and I'm on 90.6%. Do I get rounded up? 8))

If i beat someone by 0.1% internally this gets rounded before being sent to the BoS right? So same rank?

Your last minute cramming involves reading university-level BCS theory? I don't think there's much point to quote limitations such as the "neglection of electron-electron coulomb repulsion" if there is no evidence to back it up and especially if HSC level knowledge and logic counteracts it...
