The Book Thief: Can't remember quotes atm but find some from early in the novel and later on and demonstrate the contrast showing Liesel's maturity and development as a result of her strong human spirit.
- Liesel's resilience despite the adverse times.
- Journey of discovering the power of...
In the Book Thief a good example would be to use Liesel and her journey...........so find quotes from her at the start and towards the end which show her growth through contrast........for example as she discovers the power of words her understanding of the world around her is shaped. Her strong...
This was the 2008 HSC question so have a look at the notes from the marking centre http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/hsc_exams/hsc2008exams/pdf_doc/english-standard-advanced-notes-08.pdf
Also, depending on your related text, develop some thesis statements that you can apply your texts to, but...
I use the same book and yeah i'd say in the 3U test that i had the questions were similar to those in the challenge however there were also more difficult ones which i don't remember being like the ones in the challenge, most likely from Cambridge as the questions there are really aimed for 3/4...
Has anyone had a chemistry prac task yet? Have one next week, just wanted to see if others have and if you have how it was structured as in if it was based more on skills or on content.
Past papers and practice questions. Its not always easy to find past papers for certain exams but i know what the exams will be on so i do practice essays/creatives
What textbook are you using? If you're school isn't using the Cambridge one i suggest you get that one as well as there are a lot more 'extension' type questions there. Other than that do past papers and try staying ahead of the class by going ahead yourself.
I'd say chemistry has more 'rote-learning capability' although you still have to understand the concepts behind it. Physics has more maths in it but for a 2unit person that's fine, people do physics with general maths. Have a look at the syllabus for both courses and see which interests you...
I do Serbian continuers and when answering in English i still quote it in the language it was written, so Serbian. You can even translate the quote back into English. I would always still use direct quotes and explain/elaborate on them as they are the best way to make a reference/ form of...
Yeah i try to do the same, even during the week if i don't have much homework. I try to just stay on top of notes now before the block period of assessments.
Get a tutor only if you feel like you need that extra help in a subject or if you are struggling to keep up. Have you had any tutors before? Since you are doing well across all your subjects you may not need one but its up to you.
Try making notes at the end of each week according to the syllabus so that you are always staying on top of your notes, especially before all exams/assignments come at once.
