    General Mathematics Textbook

Note that all the above posts are about GENERAL maths. With the change to Standard Maths, textbooks have changed. Eg New Century Maths has been re-done with new authors I believe. While I haven't used the new NCM, I'm a fan of the 7-10 textbooks by the same authors. I'm using the cambridge...

6 hours minimum weekdays, make up sleep on weekend (sleep debt - google it). 8 hours recommended every night. imo.

Does market research include SWOT analysis and competitor analysis?

Sorry about the grave digging, but thought I'd correct it in case someone else checks out the thread, which is not that unlikely given that this thread is first page. anyway: Market Research is step 2 of the marketing process, step 1 being Situational Analysis. I mention this because the...

    business studies

you should make your own notes. or get notes which are thorough, not brief. then once you've learnt and understood a broad amount of knowledge, make your own micro-summary notes, and memorise those. also, the red peg textbook is really quite good.

    Self Studying??

maths in focus and coroneos for self-studying. avoid cambridge and fitzpatrick etc - they're terrible for self-studying. plenty of video content around to help with understanding content, if you don't understand from the above two textbooks. You can also post here on BoS :)

Inquiry about Coroneos and Pheonix Textbooks.

Coroneos is an amazing textbook. It's not just the good questions, the number and quality of worked solutions is amazing, and it's well worth the investment IF you teach yourself a lot of topics. If you have a great teacher, just stick to your current textbook (whatever it is), and spend your...

    stuck with question

That's a very common question/trick :-) Angle at the centre is twice angle at the circumference - for both sides of the angle at the centre! If that makes sense.

Does anyone use Math in Focus 3U?

Maths in Focus is a great textbook. The main complaint people have about it is that the questions in the textbook are too easy. That is a legitimate complaint. But if you're only doing textbook questions, you're studying wrong anyway. You're supposed to be doing exam-style questions from past...

    Drop 3U or SoR 1?

You post in the 3u forum and expect anyone to tell you to drop SOR? Anyway, you should drop whatever you're struggling with or you find less enjoyable. Only you can decide which you should drop, because only you know which you find more enjoyable - SoR or 3u. Ignore the scaling. The whole...

    2U book comparison

Cambridge has quite a following on these boards, that'll be the most recommended by far. And it IS an excellent book, to be sure. At the end of the day, you'll cover the same content in all the textbooks. If you have a good teacher to explain the content, go with Cambridge. I don't like...

    Prelim vs hsc

Everything in the preliminary course can be examined in the HSC course, and it IS examined every year. Quite a few of the questions in the HSC exam come from the prelim course. 100% ignore anyone who tells you otherwise, or tells you to only study certain topics. You need to know every topic in...

How to achieve a band 6 in business studies, prelim and hsc.

yeah i agree with this memorise dot points, understand and learn what each dot point means, try and link as many dot points to case studies as you can, then practise on past papers.

How to write your executive summary last?

you could just summarise your answer to the question by quickly going over the syllabus dot points you'll be covering ie list the relevant syllabus dot points, by directly associating them with the question, in a way which is more or less an introductory, executive summary. if that makes sense :/

Difference between mediation and conciliation + one more bus question!

hmm afaik: mediation where a neutral third party helps the parties come to a resolution conciliation is exactly the same, but generally the neutral third party has intimate knowledge of the area of dispute, and helps by offering solutions etc. doesn't really have to be any one particular...
