    estimate for a friend

99.95 is possible if he improves his ranks to third or better in every subject and achieves straight Band Sixes in the examinations. It's a viable outcome. However, it is unlikely. That's not an estimate. That's a possible outcome. Lol. Estimating is doable but it's a risky business. It's...

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

Ha, ha! I was quite pleased with the objective viewpoint of my compositions (lol). Now I'm upset!

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

A pattern of study, according to the Board, is a set of certain subjects. E.g. Students must study a prescribed pattern of study to be awarded an HSC. (A quote similar to this probably appears in the booklet Studying for the Higher School Certificate and this matter was brought up on Tuesday...

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

Yes it does. Changing your study pattern means discontinuing one course and taking another in it's place. E.g. Biology -> Personal Development, Health and Physical Education Ancient History -> Legal Studies

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

Where is Abbotsleigh? It sounds familiar but obviously the place wasn't memorable enough to stay with me. I agree with you. The HSC Biology course trumps the preliminary course.

I don't study Ancient History. I decided to live in the present! Yay! Have you considered changing your study pattern?

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

How 'good' it gets depends on your personal interests. In the HSC year, the core study in Biology involves homoeostasis, genetics, health and disease. You have the option of studying either communication, biotechnology, genetics (extension), evolution or introductory biochemistry. I like...

English is a waste of life.

Perhaps people currently in a similar situation could change classes or self-teach. It's sad that your teacher killed your interest in the English language and the study of English literature. I'm lucky. My teacher is a lovely person, despite regularly threatening to kill members of the class...

    Maths in Focus

The set texts for Mathematics and Mathematics Extension 1 at my school are Maths in Focus textbooks. I do the Mathematics course and I am quite unimpressed with the content of the textbook. I am aware that the first topic, Basic Arithmetic and Algebra, is supposed to be relatively easy. However...

Is It guna be Fun?? LEGAL

Legal Studies is my favourite subject at the moment. It would be good if the Board changed the subject name to Law though. My teacher forgot to talk about tyranny.

What would you like to see on BOS?

I would like to see a 'multiple delete' button on BoS that enables users to delete more than one post or visitor message at a time.

    Regretting or Hating any subjects?

Biology is okay. Apparently it gets a lot more interesting in Year 12. Isn't "The Body in Motion" the only topic on human anatomy in PDHPE?

    HSC Maths Exams

That is just slack. In General Mathematics you learn how to convert fractions into percentages. Doing General Maths does not mean you are spectacularly bad at mathematics. Okay. Thank you.

Will choosing 'Creative' subjects lower my atar?

Doing a law degree doesn't make you uncreative though. I think most, if not all of the Chaser team have a law degree and they are quite creative.

    How does scaling work?

Then why does UAC publish a scaling report? Is this done to confuse students, parents and teachers by encouraging them to believe a falsehood?
