Lol just like feminists, who twist everything about the male/female relationships in art, music, literature to make it gynocentric. Like metaphors in novels, they're all: the river, being water, is representative of the the female, and the man being drowned in it symbolises the untouched power...

hahaha steal ideas eh? you're the kind of person that made me too afraid to post up my MW. i made sure i did it after i came back from a party, so i was a little disoriented and had no doubts or reservations, cause i was really nervous someone could plagiarise it. Aaaaanyway, nah I haven't got a...

Hey, yeah, I only really joined the site to help me in the HSC, but I wanted to see what everyone thought of Avatar, having seen it drunk and not really remembering the beginning of the movie. How are you dude? PS- lol your french thing - 'I am the beef'...?

    Certificate Looks So Nice

Lol, I happened to be about to go for a run when the postman came up to the gate and he pulled out the envelope and said 'Hey, man, I've got your HSC results! Hope you did well!' He seemed all excited and flustered, like he was delivering unknown news.I ran with the idea and thanked him really...

Lol, diametric, my whole piece was centred around criticising society. You just had bad luck this year, your major work was phenomenal (but I'm sure you already know that anyway :))

Oh, get of your high horse. What are you, the figurehead of insularity and ignorance? As soon as someone starts a phrase with 'real art is...', I tell them to fuck off.

    Input on my General Plot

At the end of the day, you can do anything for ext 2 as long as you do it well. People say don't too much. Don't do romance, don't do teenage angst, don't be self-referential, don't be too ambiguous, don't do Nazi war stories, don't do mental illness etc etc. You shouldn't be afraid to take...

Should u really do your major work based on what you're doing in Adv/Ext 1?

If you look in the 2009 bos showcase, one of the users did a critical analysis on Romanticism, which was his ext 1 elective. It was so useful I printed it off for study- and he did well, i think he got 46 or something. There was a definite, almost exaggerated link between ext 1 and ext 2 there.

Is just 10 units too much of a risk

If you're confident in your units, I can't actually understand why someone would choose to study more than 10. Yeah, there are 'risks' associated, but only if you are not confident in what you're setting out to do. I did 10 units in almost purely creative arts subjects. People told me I was...

    How's my reading list?

First of all, 'The Waves' is such a tiresome read. Ackgh. You'll only understand when you pick it up and start reading. Secondly, you don't need to treat your periphery reading as a quota needed to fill. By all means, read around your topic, but I think some basic 'how to' reading would go a...

Class of 2010: Eng Ext 2 Roll Call

Don't worry, neither was mine. Make sure you go onto the Board of Studies and look at the 2008 notes from the marking centre (I'm sure 2009 will be out soon also), as they're of major help to any ext 2 student. Basically, without some kind of research-based foundation, the validity and worth of...

I don't think i have it in me to be a poet!

You are me this time last year. Self doubt is quite a disarming thing to experience when writing, and trust me, I found it really difficult to start also. First of all, I definitely agree with Absolutezero regarding starting in the middle of your work. I didn't formulate a definite structure...

Class of 2010: Eng Ext 2 Roll Call

Regardless of that, you need to research and draw comparisons with other works. Your major work will not be successful unless you can convincingly draw in research- it's as simple as that. It was illustrated in my class last year. 2 of us brought in substantial research and did well. The other...
