If it's only a small transaction I would just scan all the items again on another register. For a large transaction I would do CTRL-ALT-DELETE to reboot the SCO. The new software doesn't take that long to load and then the transaction will come back up on the screen and you can finish the...

on the rare occasion that I do step into Coles (mainly to check out the competition) I always have back luck! eg. I've only dropped my iPhone once and it was when I was in Coles. lol

I don't actually have it but the steps are: 1. Put the notes from the dispenser bag in the note dispensers. (Under the scanner) eg. $5, $20 and $50 notes. 2. Sign in to the POS. 3. Do store log in and turn the lane light on. 4. Go back to the welcome screen. 5. Do a change order for the coins...

I'm so glad to have tomorrow off! On Saturday I worked 6:30-15:30 self serve Sunday 15-24 self serve and Monday(today) 10-18:30 on big registers all day!! (Haven't done that for a while, "I'm the SS-champ not the Reg-Champ" haha) On Sunday night I stupidly gave a refund to someone on the hot...

Speaking of notes I found this $10 note in a drawer a couple of months ago. I had never seen anything like it before and we all decided that it was a fake. But according to wikipedia this was the original $10 note in 1988. Do you think we are still allowed to accept this? I doubt self serve...

Yeah I'm not too sure about Coles approach of trusting their customers. You've just made it easier for people to steal stuff. My opinion is: 95% of school kids that walk in and out of our store without buying something have probably got something hidden in their school bag. We caught 2 guys...

It's pretty hard to refuse someone from leaving through self-serve... the best thing you can do is check their bags if they have any. But when they enter through self serve it's just annoying because they get in the way!... I've seen some stores with a sign saying "exit only" on the eas gates.

On Self-serve: I'm sick of customers pressing "Accept" eg. on the - Unexpected Item screen - Place Item in the bagging area screen if you work on self-serve enough you'll realise that pressing Accept makes the SCO say assistance required and they can't do anything else until we clear it...

All rolls are under the same button now and all pastries etc. My bakery manager said they don't actually look at whick types were sold when deciding how many to make each day. I assume the just count how many are left at the end of each day.

well this is very exciting! it better be good! we have the new bakery lookup on all registers and this is not an upgrade... so I think there might be a real upgrade coming!! :) ... only found out today that you can press 'view first unread' on this thread (at the top)... very helpful

are you talking about Store Release 9.3 or is there an actual SCO upgrade coming? yes all these problems and how about the security scale works better and stops asking for assistance every 5 seconds when nothing is wrong!!... and many other problems that I can't be bothered explaining :)...

We investigate anything +\- $10. But I think that we only worry if the same cashier is short $10 or more frequently.

We used to have an intercom on all the registers before our refurb which was really good. Also I've heard of stores where the managers carry a cordless phone around, now that's a great idea!

O.M. also annoys me. And what's the point of splitting up the 10c and 20c "rolls"? I generally hate upgrades, always problems. Our registers are all slow and we did have many problems with eft.
