    I always try whatever I can to fix a self serve before calling IT help desk and then if you break it even more (unlikely) then you call them.

    This usually happens to us in summer when the registers get too hot. Basically all you can do is make sure that the air vents are not blocked on the computer of the register and it's not dusty... rebooting doesn't really help.Being on a slow register is the worst!!

    I think the main reason is when the supervisor has to deal with customer complaints. I don't think many under 18's would be able to handle a customer demanding to get the product for free, or abusing them in some way, etc. also the customer would rather deal with someone a bit older...

    I think for a register the full touchscreen is the best idea because it allows them to update it and change buttons whenever they like. And you don't need heaps of buttons because the screen can do different functions by changing what's on the display!

    I suppose it doesn't matter now but do you remember what any othe the other options were? I started working just after Wowpos came out in my store and I think it's pretty good!... never got to experience the keyboards :) Myer is about to get brand new registers... finally!
