    3 Unit Raw Marks

he means your raw score out of 84, so 82 marks out of 84 =~100. Internals can't be considered like this. IF your rank is 1st, then your internal would be 100(if you got 100 external). If your second rank and you score 100 (External mark) in the exam then it really depends on how rank 1 went...

    CSSA Trial Maths Adv RESULTS

The best thing you can do now is get as many past papers in as you can!! When i say past papers i mean, not only past HSC papers but also some trial papers from your school and others (e.g. James Ruse, Sydney Tech etc, all can be found in the resource section of Bored of Studies). As you...

My school's trial examination [download here]

I reckon i would have killed this trial.I dont think its easy or anything, just the kind of syllabus points that i made a massive effort to learn and many in my class didn't. I think it's full of great Q. I got 96/100 in my trial last year (2nd highest was 86%) because of the same kind of test...

    CSSA Trial Maths Adv RESULTS

I'm still a bit unsure by what you mean there but if you meant : -you walked into the exam and got 88/120 ( remember the 2U exam is out of 120) then im guessing you would get about 82-84 HSC MARK, something around there. -if you mean, 88/100 (ie. 88% of the marks) or 105.5/120 (raw) then...

    CSSA Trial Maths Adv RESULTS

The HSC 2U maths exam is out of 120, so do you mean 88/120? If so that would prob get you about an 82-83. Im pretty sure that band 6 (90) usually equals about 100-105/120, and on a really easy paper (e.g. 2008) i think it would have been about 109/120.

    Max and Min

Total cost =$45t + 750(0.25+s/250) where t=time Since S=d/t; t=d/s where d=750km so Total=45(750/s)+750(0.25+s/250) So just change it to T=33750s^-1+ (375/2+s/250) Dt/ds= -33750/s^2+1/250 then its just a normal problem from there, test a point before and after minimum t.p etc you...

    Studyig for HSC..help

If your getting Q wrong before Q7-Q8 in a past paper, then (imo) that would suggest lack of understanding of the topic being tested or the type of Q, i would go back and go over the exercise or topic. Q9 and Q10, you can learn how to tackle them just by doing past papers and having a good...

    Binomial Probability

I think its just (7/10)^3 x (3/10)^2, it's a convoluted Q The fact that there choosing the first 3 takes away the combination part i think, If it was any 3 of the 5 then it would be 5C3 x 7/10)^3 x (3/10)^2

Re: Australian Mathematics Competition Heres some random Q for you guys to try, i've got a solution for each that i will post up later if required: 3. Han stands at (-2,0) on a plane. Best engineering school?

Look up the universitiy national rankings for engineering and science based courses...you may not find it quite as amusing (considering its #1 and all) Btw, I'm not talking about the melbourne model based degree. I'm talking about BENG. Seems like a much better system to me. But can't be...
