    Thoughts on UTS

I've studied at both UTS and USYD. I haven't studied business, but communications. In my experience, both are good. I found the subjects at Usyd to be more rigorous, and you are taught at a much faster pace. I don't know if that goes for all subject areas though. But really, go to usyd. It's...

    PIP being not 'personal' enough.

It is a personal INTEREST project. as long as u have chosen something in which u are interested, something that stems from ur microworld in some way, and something that is contributing to ur greater sense of social and cultural literacy, then it should be fine in my opinion. i think the...

    Society revision ideas and notes

Ar....no. I personally found the excel textbook very useful even though i didnt study the topics within it. It was good to see the way the depth study or topic was treated, and then i could apply that to my own analysis. But yeah, try getting photocopies before u go buy it.

    Society revision ideas and notes

I disagree with many of you....I thought the Excel one was fantastic for Continuity and Change and Popular Culture. I can't say I used it much for belief systems though. But yeah, I think I would have been lost without that one personally. It helped clarify alot, and I gained a much better...

    PIP 2006 Topic and Help!!

You dont really have to have the full-draft complete by end of term do you? Cause that would be kinda ridiculous I think. It's so early.

People who got >90 in subjects: how did you study?

Re: ppl who got >90 in subjects how did u study?!?! For the english/humanities based subjects, I found it beneficial to just 'think' about the subject. Don't feel guilty if your not actually in front of your books studying your brains out. I found that some of the best ideas and insights into...

    PIP - topic?

Perhaps yes, you could use the cross-cultural comparison of generations to see how Christianity is trying to remain relevant in contemporary society. I did Christianity as my Belief System focus and I looked alot at how its not so much the fundamental beliefs of the religion that have changed...

    Can you re-apply next year?

Thanks everyone. I just recieved an email from UAC. They said that the UAI is never re-calculated, which makes sense I suppose considering that you sat different exams to this year's cohort. As you said, just place the new courses as a higher preference to the deferred one. Ta

    Can you re-apply next year?

Hey, I'm just after some help. If I was to defer the course I have got an offer for and took a year off to work and travel, but then decided at the end that i no longer wanted to do the course that I'd defered, what happens? Is my uai still valid for the rounds next year? Or do I have to wait...

    English Extension 2 biased?

I think that the reflection statement plays a big part in whether the work is successful or not. It was constantly stressed to us that a great major work can be torn to shreds if it is not supported by a skillfully written reflection statement - one that clarifies everything and draws the...

    PIP Awards

Wow this is so cool. yeah our projects are so similar. I dealt specifically with the 'feminisation'. I didnt look at what impact the ads had on males in the process of socialisation at all in my final piece. I looked at print ads in australian circulation over the past 50 years and looked...

    PIP Awards

Hey Jack_white! My topic was almost the same!!! I got a high distinction and a top 10 ranking as well. I did the same sort of thing but in the context of print advertising media. Mine was called "Moisturizing Masculinity". lol. I'm so interested in your Pip now!
