    Low scaling subjects

i did higher scaling subjects, such as advanced english, software, chemistry, physics, ext 2 maths, but will be the first to admit i dont like the scaling system. However, if you do things right, you can still get a very big UAI with lower scaled subjects. One girl at our school, who got the...

    Parents Reaction to UAI marks

i got a 91.10, my parents were like "OMG, that is awesome", so i think they are slightly happy with me. They were like "you will be doing well to get your 83 for the course you want" so yeah.

    What UAI did you get?

still wrong in my mind buddy. Have a look at the band descriptors and cutoffs. More than 80% of people got band e3 or higher in 4 unit maths, and osmething like 70% or more in 3 unit, as opposed to the likes of modern and ancient history, each having less then 10% in the top band, and about...

    What UAI did you get?

I dont know why im doing this (being a maths/science person), but i so dont agree with the way that that is done. I know a lot of people who have aced all their subjects (well like... mid-high 80's and 90's) in humanities subjects (history, ext english etc), while i have had a couple high 70's...

Softwares over! How'd we all go?

it wasnt that easy really. It was certainly not what you expect from a software exam, barely any algorithms, not much on the design process, it was stupid. And as for the option topic, question 25, wtf???? Not one bit of binary arithmetic, hardly anything on logic gates. Are they trying to turn...

What mark do you think you got?

i thought it was a good chem paper. It was a challenge, but nothing like. OMG psycho hard sorta thing. couldnt do a couple questions (just had to bs about the lead acid cell chemistry) but i think i should get around 80-85%. Hopefully a bit higher, but might even be lower, who knows.

    state average

i was always told by my teacher, and several others in the school, that the average raw mark for a 4 unit exam was between 2.75 and 3 out of 8 questions correct. That works out to somewhere between 40 and 45 if im not wrong. I dont mind if im wrong, but thats just what i was told. Even my...

How did you do in your trials?

my school did the CSSA trials. I didnt do too bad considering we havent had our teacher since the start of last term. Got 79%, only 11/15 in the MC, and for astro, which we havent had our teacher for at all, i got 18/25, which really shoulda been 21, but i did somethin really silly. GRRRR

    Projectile Motion

if u dont wanna derive it, is it really worth doing ext one. The deriving is worth big marks (an everage question seems to be about 4-5 marks). Besides, by deriving, there are other things that may need to be answered that you will come across.

    Grrrr... So Cranky

sounds like you guys are quite lucky. Only having your teacher away for a week at a time. Put urselves inour shoes, we have had our teacher for only about 3 lessons in the last term, if that many. Guess we should try teaching ourselves.

wat mark is considered good? in MX2

i have been told by all the maths teachers here at my school, that a raw mark of around 4.5-5/8 will get you a mark in the 90's for ext 2. What would that be, around 70-75/120.
