I failed.
The Emma/Clueless essay question wasn't too bad.
The Othello question was a fucking joke. FML.
Gah, I so failed my othello essay.
what was your othello question? ours was something about relationships, and most of our class didn't study anything about that. soo annoying.

society was the worst. the multiple choice was ridiculous, more than one answer could've been appropriate on more than one occasion. and 30 minutes for each of the two essays was definitely not enough time. i was rushing so badly, i don't think i'm gonna do amazingly well... but at least exams are now finished! :)

That's the same with my multiple choice!
One of the questions was "Which of the following is an agent of socialisaition?" A) The Family B) The Media and then I can't remember C & D, but they were completly unrelated - but both A & B were right !

And another one was "What are the 5 fundamental concepts of S & C" - I never knew there was a "fundamental five" - I just know the 9 concepts? And then all the 9 concepts were mixed in the answers, in different combinations.

i'd say they meant the most important, in order they are family, school, peers, media, significant others.

and there are five fundamental and four 'themes'

thats only two questions though! i'm sure you went fine :) what were your essay q's?

Legal was a waste of time. A lot of people including myself finished 20mins - 30mins earlier, nap time.

i know! our exam was only an hour and a half, it should've been two hours, definitely not long enough. i can't remember the exact wording but one was "discuss the development of identity through the Coming of Age process, refer to socialisation, rites of passage, nature vs nurture and an examination on the Amish" and the other one was "Discuss how language and values can impact successful intercultural communication. How can it be improved?" and i can't remember the other choices we had.

lol... we must've both done the independent multiple choice, mine were exactly the same. and also the one about defining socialisation and one choice was something like "knowing and understanding your status in the micro world" and "knowing and understanding the micro and macro world"... couldn't it be either? i think the 2nd one is more correct, but for some reason i put the 1st.

Yeah, I put family. :) Oh okay, thats what you get when you have a fail of a teacher. Which are the fundamental??

Yeah, I think I went okay anyway!! Essay Questions, we got a choice
For Personal & Social Identity -
a) How does Socialisation assist individuals gain an identity and a sense of self.
I can't remember what B was, it will come to me later.

Intercultural Communication
a) How important is cultural relativism in achieving successful intercultural communication?
b) What impact does gender have on the communication process?

Pretty easy :) I did A for both.

Ohh yes! I do remember that one. I think I put the second one. That question stumped me - I didn't think any of the answers defined socialisation very well - they were way too brief.

five fundamental are persons, society, culture, environment and time.
you often have to talk about how they inter-relate. we have this learnt phrase which our class rattles off in unison, the question was in the exam and we all burst out into laughter.

the other four are the 'themes' which underpin s&c.
those questions are pretty good :) i would have done a to i think.

um, it was a statement about how the men appear to be the dominant powerful characters in the play, however ironically it is the women who ultimately cause their downfall. then it just said "discuss" :/
I couldn't think up much to say about that.

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

Had Japanese today;
so much fail.

The reading was about a guy who had just been on an exchange to japan, and he stood up to talk to the classmates.

He spoke about Australian kids being fat, contrasting japanese kids not being fat.
And How Australian schools hire a cleaner and are covered in rubbish.
And Japanese schools, are not.

Basically saying Australian kids are lazy compared to Japanese kids.

And then speaking was just fail.

Seems as if I forgot what tenses were.
haha.

But now yearlies are over!
