thats standard math level if you are looking for fun through math you aren't getting that in hsc physics unless you unnecessarily overcomplicate stuff on purpose

do you think physics would be a better course if they allowed stuff from adv and even ext 1 to be used?

how do you conduct experiments on that topic......

haha well we dont actually need to do an experiment
instead we have to design an industrial plant which maximises the yield of a certain molecule using le chateliers principle and collision theory

oh we got to write a cheat sheet on that and take it to the test for long answer questions. Haber process on top just because its so much easier than the contact and solvey processes.

I may as well learn induction if I'm getting so many questions of this nature

tbh tho i feel like when you learn induction you don't really learn where the sums even come from in the first place, you just try and manipulate the sum to get it into whatever the question wants
its more about the process than what the sums actually are yk?

you're lucky that you get to talk about that for your depth study. Ours is on titrations i just really hope it's not back titrations or something cooked like that

All those questions can literally only come our as "here's the formula use it to find the rectangles hence bounds of this integral" along with a graph. They have to explicitly give all details

oh well if theyre giving the formula then you're chilling. it wouldve been a lot more difficult if they expected you to prove the sum from the type of function you're integrating or something

Its like how using the formulae is barely the surface but what I want to know are where the formulae come from and can any patterns be associated with the derivations of these formulae as powers are raised

and also by that i mean like, at least w what ive learnt so far ive never had to actually use any sums. maybe in binomial expansion (which was kinda fun) but in induction u rarely have to even apply the sums

what do you mean?

like actually apply the sum to a real situation.
induction is just here is a sum on the lhs... now sub in n=k+1, shove in n=k and manipulate the lhs until you get the rhs.

2u is really easy to gain a conceptual understanding but the questions they can give you are cooked which ig needs rote learning on my part

really? i feel like a strong conceptual understanding can legit get u through just about any question they throw at you.
most of the time, if a question is difficult its just something really simple you couldn't see at first.
this question i lost some marks in during my last adv exam required completing the square somewhere which i stupidly didnt catch

but they put in some super cooked questions and less than 15 people actually finished the test.
