From what I've seen, the general impression with Cambridge is that it looks ugly and/or the questions are ugly/hard. I found it to be pretty good and would recommend that at least you have a look at it.

I have seen the 4u cam, ironically i'm using the 3u one for prelim, just finishing off some last topics before using the 3u hsc book. I would expect the 4u to follow the same structure and have the 3 difficulty of questions.

They are different, namely because they have different authors. Like I said, I think its alright but then again, I was given all of my maths texts books by the school.

Haha yeah, i have his excel book AND his small purple textbook (2nd edition). The textbook has more questions is more compact, and the excel one has comprehensive examples for revision and larger words lol. By the way, patel also has a 3u excel book so look out for that if you haven't already got it. ;)

Omg, we just started Conics today with implicit differentiation. It's alright so far, but from what I heard it's the hardest topic in the course....ah crap......

I heard the hardest was mechanics and that circular motion topic, also the harder 3 unit can get very hard...

Depends how algebraically confident you are.

If you are confident with the geometry of the parabola and parametrics topic in 3u, then the conics will not be hard since you do stuff like parametric equation of the ellipse and hyperbola and chord of contact which is a bit of deja vu since we've done it for the parabola in 3u. ;)
I'm looking forward to 4u. :D
