Ergh this is making me so frustrated :(

If someone could help that would be greatly appreciated.

2x+y/x-3 + x-y/x+3 - 3x+2y/x^2+x-6

It should be easy but it isn't happening for me.

sure, but WHERE IS THE EQUATION EDITOR?!

aight, i'll try this the hard way.

wait, are you sure the first term isn't supposed to be 2x+y/x-2?

Not that I am an expert, but I'm pretty certain that one of the bottom expressions does need to be an (x-2) and not (x-3)

Other than that, I'm stuck.

Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

Yah, I'm stuck too. The answer is extremely long, which it shouldn't be. The question is supposed to be simplified. Check to see if the question is copied correctly.

is the final answer:
(x-1)(3x^2-3x)+4y
(x-3)(x+3)(x-2)

by any chance?

Dear Deer - don't give up. You are not likely to get a problem of this complexity in 2U Maths HSC Exam. One of my concerns is whether or not you have transcribed the expression correctly?

Is the expression supposed to be:

(2x + y)/(x - 3) + (x - y)/(x + 3) + (3x +2y)/(x^2 + x - 6) ???

The way you have quoted the expression does not look right.

i think i might have done it wrong :s but

2x+y/x-3 + x-y/x+3 - 3x+2y/x^2+x-6

2x+x-3x+x+y/x-y/x+2y/x^2-3+3-6

x+y/x-y/x+2y/x^2-6

(x^2)x+xy+x(-y)+1(2y)-(x^2)6

x^2+xy-xy+(2y)-x^2 times 6
-------------------------------------
x^2

x^2+1 xy-xy+2y-6x^2
------------------------------
x^2

x^3 +xy-xy+2y-6x^2
----------------------------
x^2

x^3+2y-6x^2
-----------------
x^2
