I'm pretty sure the person who got the 495.4 was Michael Forgacs, who did about 2103298 different langauges, and got state rankings in them too (except latin continuers). His lowest mark was modern history (96), and the lowest mark that contributed to his UAI was 97 in advanced. LOL!
Haha, holy fuck.

really? i always thought sci state ranks had bloody awesome scaling (better than languages maybe?)

(maybe i shouldve done langauges instead then.... lmao)

@ namu
she got 99 aligned for ag, scaled to 95.8
Hm, well he got basically 99/98 for all languages... they'd scale like hell.

still, it wouldn't have really counted. if it did (I doubt it did) then she wasn't the one who got 495.x or whatever. But still, BLOODY AWESOME ACHIEVEMENT FROM HER.

guys would you have preferred 1st in the state for 2 subjects or top 10 in the state for 5 subjects? (but not top 3 though)

nah, german is not very hot.

But at the top end, you still get 97+ scaled mark so it's not much of a worry .

agriculture is firstly lowly scaled. Its top scaled mark is like 95/100 so it would hardly count. So it's basically

10th in chem, 4th in eng adv, 1st in french, 6th in physics vs 1st in french extension, 5th in french cont, 3rd in german extension (?) and another for german + 97 in eng advanced

I don't see who can win.

EDIT: I think it would be Michael then because rosyln would have lost more than 5 scaled marks from her subjects.
He also got 99 in latin continuers. Honestly I don't think he lost more than 5 aggregate points.

French Extension 49/50 --> scaled to around 50/50
French Continuers 99/100 --> scaled to around 99
German Extension 49/50 --> scaled to around 50/50
German Continuers 99/100 --> scaled to around 99
Latin 99/100 --> scaled to around 100
Advanced English 97/100 --> scaled to around 97.

Total: 495 ish. :S

Hmmm...
1st for two, I think, because it really shows you excelled at two subjects and highlights your strengths, plus it's harder to achieve 1st for 2.
Top 10 in state for 5 subjects would be amazing though...Still, I'd prefer 1st for two.

I don't think anything can go to full 100 unless you topped the state but. Anyways, for roslyn's ->
4th in eng adv (98 goes to about 99)
1st in french cont (100 cos she topped in)
10th in chem (97 to about 98)
6th in phys (97 to about 99)
and 98 in 4u maths i tihnk (to 99)

about 495 too lol =P

Laurie's aggregate was reported to be 497. :|

What about Amelia Joy Thompson, who went to Ruse?

I reckon her aggregate would be around 495 too. She topped like a zillion subjects (distinction courses, advanced English... top five for like bio, 2U maths, chem etc).

Yup
and crap Laurie's is massive. 497!!!! zomgrofl.

Joy thompson hmm let's see
100 in adv eng
6th in bio -> about 98
4th in chem -> about 99
1st in comparative ->100
5th in maths -> about 99

so that's about 496?

Just checked. 97 in chem would go to 97. 97 in physics would go to around 97 too.

Is it just me or does every subject seem to have somewhat of a threshold, whereby if you exceed this mark every mark you get would count as one aggregate point?

My friend got 97/100 in legal studies (6th in NSW) and I checked, that contrbuted around 97 points to her UAI (99.95). So much for "bad" scaling - but lol only if you exceed this high-ass mark! LOL

But a 98 goes to 100? You can;'t use JUAI or enstein because they're linear methinks. Use common sense instead.

Seeya zeph! bring the dough home =P
