a) electives offered in the UNSW FBE faculty
b) general electives
I cant freaking find either!
I just want to know if there really is that great a difference in the courses if i choose to do arch/arts over arch.

Hmm maybe the choking comments werent you, must have been another BOSer ?
BOSers dont exist as individuals to me, they kindof exist in levels, and all the BOSers on each level coagulate to form one super BOSer with many names.
So all in all there are only 5 seperate BOSers on the whole of BOS.

Well i finally accepted ... :S about 10 odd mins before the dead line

I figured if i decide i dont want the arts bit i can just apply to tranfer as the arch/arts and arch course are identical for the first year.
Anyway its final that im moving to Surry Hills soonish, woot independance. (yeah not relevant but i wanted to share)

A uni will not give you anything if you dont contribute.
If you think going to sydney uni will MAKE you cool, and MAKE fun for you then youre so wrong.
Im just excited by the prospect on going to uni and being an architect in 6 years.

Architectural Design: Architectural Communications - which covers like tech drawing, free hand, CAD stuff and model making.
i really wanna get the CAD software we're gunna use and start playing with it when im bored! you guys know what ur gunna use yet?
Introduction to Theory and Architecture - sounds insane, its like all the theory of arch. arch as science Vs. arch as an artform etc etc... lol

This is a foundation course in developing capabilities in a broad range of architectural manual graphic communication skills, particularly architectural drawing and model making. Students are introduced to the various architectural drawing conventions, to freehand architectural drawing styles and mediums and to creative drawing as a means of analyzing and exploring architectural and design ideas. The course also teaches model making as a means of exploring the 3D resolution of spatial concepts and theories, and verbal skills through in-class presentations that teach the ability to intelligently talk about architectural ideas. This is a studio-based subject involving intensive, hands-on exercises taught simultaneously with design and visual theory requiring and developing not just the specific skill bases but lateral thinking and creativity. The core philosophy of the Communications 1 course is that the material practice of drawing, model making or verbal analysis leads each student to achieve personal insights and realizations into architectural aesthetics and theory that expand their architectural, design and visual vocabulary. Assessment is a mixture of exams, assignments and continuous assessment with a particular stress on in-class participation. Newayz .. hey purple .. ur statement saying u'll muck around on cad while ur bored .. doubt that'll happen .. i got the program .. and damn i hate it, ahahah i think its the lack of experience i have with it .. trying to do anythign and everything with it .. but so far .. no luck .. i can just draw shapes .. ahaha

what program did you get? like 'archicad' or something ... or that other one 'autocad'?
damn i was hoping it wouldnt be too hard oh wells, i guess we'll learn a bit about it in communications. how did you manage to obtain it ( ie. illegally? - or can we get it from the uni somehow). oh and are there certain specs required to run it? im getting a new pc next weekish, so i might aswell check

Anything more complex and im gonna have issues... Oh well , we go to uni to learn.
