I'm going to usyd but I can relate to some of you guys... There are only three people in my school not including myself who are going to Sydney. Only one of them is doing science and he isn't doing any of the same units as me. I literally don't know anyone at all. :/

Well..it's as awkward as you want to make it. You wanna be all quiet during discussions and not at least say hello to people = potentially awkward. If you don't think about it and maybe just wave and say hello to anyone that sits next to you = not so awkward. I don't know anybody there, but I'm not going to let that make the first week or two awkward as hell. Just don't think about. If it's only a few classes without your social circle, that's nothing. You'll probably end up making friends in these other classes through group work assignments and tutorials.

3 of my best friends are going to unsw, roughly 10 good friends are also coming and none of them are in any degrees that would allow us to have the same subjects

but that's the way I like it. new people are great

^Lol @ the MLP gif.

if you go to uni to hit on chicks you are fucking retarded

you go to uni to learn and become successful and get money. chicks come second.
Fuck bitches, get money.

what about engo/comm? plus i hear that commerce has all the hot chicks, comment anyone?
WTF happened to Arts?

I know heaps of people who are doing some form of Engo at UNSW, but we didn't bother enrolling in the same classes. It's quite difficult to get a synchronised timetable for different types of engo.

lol that isn't answer i was hoping for :( what's university life without random hotties to hit on? ... what's the point, what does it all mean.. what's real what isnt?
only hotties do architecture/arts. presumably because there is some correlation between increasing looks and decreasing intelligence (except for outliers such as myself)

there are some hotties at unsw, though less so than the other big 4.

also, im not going to know anyone in my classes, but i'm happy about that, i like meeting new people, and plus it gives you a chance to do your own thing away from your friends
+1. This is what I was hoping for as well but thanks to Comm at UNSW being so popular with Baulko kids there are 10 of them in each of my tutes and like 20-25 of them in my lectures for Econ1101, Mgmt1001 and acct1501.

Thankfully I have Math1151

^how awkward.

Don't know anyone going to UNSW from my school except 1 person...
He's doing commerce/maths and I'm going Flex Eng.
Only course we COULD have in common is maths 1141
Except my combined mark was 165, not 175.
Hence I'm retarded and will be making new friends this year with my retarded peers/.

OH HAI GUYZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

My "ex" *cough* may end up doing a few subjects with me this year - particularly so if I have him in ACCT1501 and random economics classes. I'm really not looking forward to that all. He's not a pleasant person to be around. Unless you get duct-tape and stick it to his mouth, that could work. Hopefully he'll diverse himself with other people.

I might have one friend and one classmate in my commerce-y based lectures this year. Although I plan on steering clear of my former high school classmates. *cringe*

I may have a programming class with one of my friends who is doing Comp Science/Science. I'm looking forward to that because he can do my homework for me :3 I kid.

I have one former classmate who is also going to unsw (ugh, ugh, ugh) but she's not in any of my classes. Thank goodness. One of my friends is doing PSYCHOLOGY and the another one who's doing Arts because she wants to do something funky like philosophy.

Hmm... some guy I know from North Sydney Boys is doing Medicine this year too as well. Not sure if I should talk to him if I see him around... he's so ugh x100000.

Other than that, I don't think Uni should be heavily based on socialising. Sure, it's great if one wants to build networks but... it would be better to get to know people who you're not already used to. Since I moved so many high schools I realised that it's good to know a little about everybody than being glued to just one group for the rest of your life.
