I was just wondering...has anyone here played the ASX schools sharemarket game seriously before? is anyone going to be playing the upcoming game and if so what shares would you consider buying?

LOL - that game. We played in Yr 7-10. We played seriously for the first two weeks. We left the account as it was for the rest of the term.

Yeah I played that in year 10. It's an alright game, but it's pretty slow. I remember purchasing shares in Caltex and TAB - it was goood

Yeah the schools game is open for registration, closing some time around mid-late August. ask one of your eco/business teachers, i'm sure they will sign you up

I played that in Year 9. My Commerce teacher said it should teach us about trading shares or something. I sucked at it haha

Yeah, we're playing it in Economics. I think that my group is considering investing in minerals and mineing or something. I'm not sure yet, we havn't really started.

I've played in years 9 and 10 and will be playing this year when the game starts on Monday.
... Though I'll probably lose interest within the hour or so. It always happens.

lol ive played it year 9 (game 1&2) year 10 (game 1&2) and so far game 1 this year, and ive entered in game 2 this year...

how can u not play seriously?!?!?!? its awesome fun, ive been coming 1st in our school ever since i started playing

funny though,

i really had no idea what i was doing.

last year i researched a bit more, but didnt succeed that much..


maybe i should just take the risks instead of looking for trends, etc.
and missing the entire stop.
