There's a lot of talent festering on the backbenches (Maxine, Shorten...) , so a lot of these dead-wood ministers are going to have to make way soon

Are interest rates the only measure of a countries success??

I would have thought universal and decent health care, taking care of the vulnerable etc were more important...

What do you guys think of the medicare levy vote?

Personally I thought Labor's initial policy of raising it to $100,000 would be a terrible mistake because people who are doing ok financially and currently have private health insurance, would be encouraged to move to the public system. Their addition to the public system would lead to longer waiting lists and people who are currently in the public system would be worse off.

The change to $75,000 sounds reasonable though.
