i wasnt saying kits should be made out of disrespect...dont assume things that will somehow give validity to your arguments
"just don't challenge their right to publish it."
ummm...if u havent realised by now, im not against freedom of speech.

EXACTLY my point with the analogy to the cartoons.
And I never fully endorsed the publications of those cartoons, incase you were inferring a backflip of position from my post.

All this shit has blown over way too much.

And I end this post with the assertion that I hope someone assasinates Iran's president.

lol why should there be any land at all there "Mound island"?
There should be just super deep ocean waters which would aid our problem of rising sea levels.

So it's a dual-problem solution.

And to keep any other would-be terrorist to live there (i dunno underwater or on a boat) the map should says "Here be dragons" right in the middle there :p

I'm trying to decide what I will do if someone tries to sell me one of these kits on O-day.

It will probably involve a broken nose for them (at minimum) or their head through a desk at max.

"Great, now get over the cartoon in the paper thing and grow up." ur the one who started all this things about muslim...when u mentioned the koran, if ur posting about that, restrict it to the appropriate thread.
Mate, ur the one who is constantly posting the importance of freedom of speech and which religion is better etc.. (god versus...)...blah blah blah

mate ur the one who started all this muslim...
just wanted to know what you guys think of the new "burn a flag" kits that will be selling during O-week. I hope people buy it to support freedom of speech. Remeber, this is soley to show that you support freedom of speech, and doesn't suggest that you hate your country lol.
well withoutaface/not-that-bright, flag burning is an exercise of freedom of speech, just as the publishing of muhammad comics in newspapers....if ur not against that, then why are you against flag burning?...after all it's an expression of the freedom of speech
and not-that-bright..u idiot...u'll still be burning the flag..LOL lmfao
I believe these were all pointing towards the muslim cartoon incident...

Burning a flag = freedom of speech?

I think people mean "freedom of expression" or "freedom to protest".

These flag burning kits are a publicity stunt, and fundraising for Resistance. Just think about where your money will be going.

you shouldnt burn an Australian flag, because you are Australian yourself. it makes no difference what the Government is doing, by having respect for yourself you automatically show respect for your country. You wouldnt burn a piece of paper with your name and all of Australias names on it? It’s the some thing. However, if you were Aboriginal then it would be different.

The flag alone isn't a symbolic representation of our country - though I personally wouldn't consider burning a flag, let alone our own, it is possible for someone to respect the country yet choose a method of protest that many within that country would consider to be particularly offensive.

I think we should burn some Resistance flags at O-week. And while we're at it, some SRC flags as well.

Several reasons:

1) Resistance use SRC money and resources to do these sorts of things
2) I'm dissatisfied with the way the SRC is run
3) Because the USYD SRC is a corrupt organisation that resorts to thug tactics and deceit to get its way, even if that means beating up students.
