using a convicted racist to make a point that's essentially equivalent to saying you can speed thru dangerous corners because the picture on the yellow warning sign doesn't exactly match the curvature of the road

lucky you and the rest of the fossil fuel lobby don't have any shame

Re: Carbon tax legislation passes lower house

The only thing it'll do is increase the cost of our already too high energy usage and make people angry.

Bear in mind there was a 25% rate increase for electricity in NSW, July 1st this year. The cost of our energy is also higher than that of our overseas counterparts.

The tax itself won't reduce emissions, either. People will still use the same amount of electricity.

The only reason I'd support the carbon tax would be if the government manages to push the energy companies into using FAR costlier greener energy sources, they'd subsidise the extra cost. But no. They'll just sit on it and make it much harder for people like me to pay their bills. And considering the rise in cost is partly attributed to an ageing infrastructure, do you expect them to do anything about that?

10% goes straight to the United Nations to help them make Bob Brown's One World Government, don't you know?

I liked the Chaser's point about how it went from the "greatest moral challenge of our time" (Kevin Rudd) to "How much will I get" (the clean energy future website)
