Its more like 20 grand a year and then you gotta add textbooks, transport etc....
yeah im just saying that 10 grand roughly is for the tuition fees itself
add all the other costs then like ragin sheep said, it would be around 15-20 grand

i think he is saying that you should put down courses that are lower in terms of UAI just in case you don't get in
just to be on the safe side i guess
I'm pretty sure that you can change it once you've received a uai though.

yeah i know, but some courses they require you to list them as their preferences by a certain deadline.
dont most medicine degrees have a deadline set on when is the last day you can apply for it?

these are my preferences but im confused

medicine uws - 92 + umat
medicie newcastle - dunno
medicine unsw - dunno
international studies usyd - 93.45
aviation studies usyd - 70.00
Diagnostic radiography usyd - 89.00
Physiotherapy charles sturt - 95.55
Pharmacy usyd - 94.35 + stat

Say i get a uai of say 93.45 and my umat results are crap so i wotn get medicine anywhere. i should get an offer for international studies.. but do i also get an offer to diagnostic radiography and aviation... or can i only get one offer or something?

You get the 1st preference you qualify for thats why you Put the course you want to do FIRST . There's no advantage in putting higher UAI courses first.

I must say though, I doubt 92 will be enough for med even at uws...

damn is the uai for phyisotherapy at charles sturt that high
geez
well if you put international studies before your diagnostic radiography, then you will be offered international studies as this was placed in the higher preference order than the diagnostic radiography, if you get the required uai

You can only receive one offer in any one round. If it's not your first offer, you may receive another offer in the later rounds if it is above your first (depending on the vacancies of the courses and your UAI).

dude, its about 10 grand a semester for full fee law

its interesting to see people choosin USYD over UNSW for psych n engineering, the apparently weaker USYD courses.

6) B Engineering-University of Newcastle (Callaghan), 4F:480255, 75.20

7) B Information Technology-Macquarie University (North Ryde), 3F: 300503, 75.20

B Engineering/B Science (Advanced)-University of Sydney (Camperdown/Darlington),5F: 511770, 96.40

9) B Engineering-UWS (Penrith), 4F:703000, 60.00

Thats what I have atm, I like the Advanced Science of USyd, and i know UNSW has one, but it cant be combined with Engineering right?, I cant find it in the online handbook. But the UAC Guide says: "Exceptional students may select a major sequence from Advanced Science."

Also,is there any point in putting 'B Engineering (Computer)-UNSW (Kensington)' as the second choice when it's already part of the first ' B Engineering (Computer)/B Science -UNSW (Kensington), 5F: 425014, 85.00'.

I wanted to do science, but not setting myself up for a fall, I just had one question, not too sure on this.

But, what is the probability of getting into the course at the 2nd-3rd and lower rounds?

Example, someone has 9 preferences:

95.00
92.00
87.00
83.00
80.00
76.00
70.00
65.00
62.00

Now, let's say the guy gets a UAI, of 70. What probability will he have off getting in the courses below that range? It's pretty low right? (considering they woulda been filled out in the first few rounds. )

Here is a draft of my preferences;

1. B Science UNSW 73.00
2. B Science UTS 76.90
3. B Science McqU 75.55
4. B Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics McqU 78.60
5. B Biotechnology UTS 72.40
6. B Medical Science UWS 66.20
7. B Science UWS 60.00
8. B Computing UWS 60.90
9. B Science (Gene Science) UWS 60.00

Playing it safe, (cause of what I said above).

Actually I think you can receive two offers in any round - one CSP offer and one DFEE.

1. Bachelor of Science (Advanced) USYD (96.40)
2. Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) USYD (98.80)
3. Bachelor of Pharmacy USYD (95.95 + Minimum 150/200 for STAT)
4. Bachelor of Science USYD (83.00)
5. Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science) UNSW (88.00)
6. Bachelor of Science UNSW (73.00)

NB: Positions 4-6 are only there to take up space :D (and as a backup if I bomb out in the HSC which I think is unlikely but nonetheless possible)...lol
I'm hoping to get some USYD Scholarships and get into TSP...
Haha, I love science and mathematics.....yes....how typically asian of me....yet paradoxically, I'm doing better at English than I am at Mathematics Extension 1 and Chemistry...:p
I did consider doing Medicine at the beginning of the year, but I considered it to be too stressful and demanding. I wasn't super interested in Medicine anyway, so no point in doing it since the selection process supposedly filters out people like me....lol
