Yeah sorry if it doesn't help.

Hey our trial question was very similar to what your going on about.

We had three pictures - a lonely house, a school, and a train
We had three objects - a kid playing with a kite, a pile of books, and a computer

we had to link one object and one picture together along with the notion of belonging.

that was the independant paper it think

Oh okay.

I selected the train and the computer.

First person narrative.
The girl was an orphan who was always stalked by this really weird guy.
She seeks diparture <- Train
Keeps getting emails from teh weirdo <- computer.
At the end starts to love him too.
Finds a sense of belonging.

Yes kinda gay story but that's all I could manage in the last 10 minutes I had because I done the short responses first, and then SectionIII and then I started with Section II. :D
Ah that doesn't seem bad. I didn't finish my story. I started with the essay, then comprehension.

Gave myself plenty of time but i couldn't come up with an ending so I just rambled on till time was up.

I didn't have time to even re-read it to see if I had any errors :(

Did you have a heading by the way?

My one was so lame - "Escaping Him Was Impossible."

pffft.

Create a piece of writing using one of the following stimuli.

The broken road is full of surprises

Close. Closer. Gone.

The quest for solidarity

Haha.

No, I don't think I did. Mine would have been equally crap.

I pretty much hate creative writing for english. Last year with journeys I had heaps of fun writing my first story because I made it really silly. But my teacher said that, while it was an entertaining story I'd probably get a non-attempt because it wasn't serious.

Writing serious stories is lame.

Lol sweet.

That's what creative writing is about - something different, even if its not serious it needs to be different - outside the square.

Every story I wrote about was supernatural. :D

Well, you see, that's what I thought... But apparantley mine was so far outside the square it didn't even qualify.

Perhaps in the next few days I can come up with something that's only just outside the square.

To put it simply, it has to be outside the square to the extent where the marker can conclude that the piece of writing has been written by a HSC Student, not a Year 7 kid. :D

It wasn't that silly...

Actually, it probably was. and it was riddled with funny song titles and stuff.

I suppose I could let someone else be the judge of how stupid it was... If I still have it.

I did CSSA too, but there were only 4 =S
I only remember 2 of them

"Lost"
"I hate it when people tell me to smile" (Something along those lines)

I don't really remember the other 2
Yeah, that's the one! I can't remember them either... deleted from my memory, they were pretty crap =P

There were ones with the toys... i chose the lost with the stoner guy lol
I remember doing it on that picture too!
I stressed out heaps on the spot, and even though I had other ideas I started writing about some social outcast... UGH! So stereotyped!
These practise questions should help...

Well done. I kinda wanted to do S&C toward the end of the year. It tied in pretty wel with extension history and seemed pretty interesting.

Obviously it was too late by then.

S&C is a very interesting subject.

Even the PIP wasn't hard to deal with.

It's really very easy.

Plus it's really different to the other subjects - not much content. Just a range of concepts, that's all.

And if you're familiar with the concepts, you'll ace it easily, regardless.

The PIP was a big deal for a girl in my History ext class... Always complaining about it.

But yeah, it seems like it'd be alright. If it's a 'personal interest project' you should have no trouble.

Technically, yes. But PIPs can be challenging despite appearing to be easy. E.g. a mathematics PIP:

Derive the formulae for the area of a sphere (surface area), volume of a sphere, and thus find the volume formula of a hemisphere via derivation. Also find the surface area formula for a hemisphere, with SIMPLE derivation.

PIP Timeline: 1 day

An example of a 4U mathematics 'crazy' problem... :)
