Got it all until i hit that induction (6). Got 4/5 of the rest of the parts out, except for that weird numbers question...

Think i got about 8/15 on question 8! it wasn't as bad as some of the past trials thank god!

With the pairs of numbers

a^2 + b^2 + c^2 = (a + b + c)^2 - 2(ab + bc + ac)

And also

Using x + y + z = 5 (or whatever it was)

y + z = 5 - x

If you sub them in for each of the brackets, and expand, you get something which you can sub in the original equations for

I found the paper all right. standard difficulty.

also, anyone know how to do the tent one ? there isn't a height to integrate.

i found the induction all right. just shift a few number and substitute the given rule.

Since it was formed on a circle, the height was 2

r^2 + h^2 = 4

r = 2 (radius of the things), therefore height is 2 when the radius is 0 (at the centre point)

q.6 was retarded i got zero for it
what's question 6 ? tent ?

r^2 + h^2 = 4

r = 2 (radius of the things), therefore height is 2 when the radius is 0 (at the centre point)
oh i see. thank you :D

edit : oh wait. isn't 2 is the side of the tent ? not radius ?

I thought the paper wasn't too bad; the only real problem I had was I ran out of time so I skipped questions seven.

i thought question 6 was quite simple, circle geometry was really simple except for the last part where you had to prove the two lines were perpendicular

the tent one was simple, it told u in the question that the tent was in the shape of a semi-circle and each "re-entrant"(i think thats wat they called it) was an equilateral triangle (but it has a curved side) therefore

then u have the radius of 2m, then u do the integration which i cant remember :D

question 8 part (a) was easy as well, just rearranging shit

for me, questions 1 - 5 were awesome.

questions 6 and 7 were difficult, as those exposed all the topics im horrid at.

question 8 was pretty good, expecting 7-8 from it, but didnt get time to finish it all >.<
