Ok so both of these degrees are postgraduate and so require you to hold a degree before applying. Does this mean you can do virtually any degree you want? Say for example you could do a B.Arts with a major in English Literature or something right? If so wouldnt it be more helpful to do B.Science with a major in ... some related area?
Anyone here doing a degree just so you can start medicine?
Both of them are offered at the levels: undergraduate, graduate-entry undergraduate, and postgraduate.
You can do whatever degree you want as long as your GPA is high enough for entry and you get a high enough score in GAMSAT/UMAT and you perform well in your interview.
Saying that, to do the
Doctor of Dentistry at USyd you need to have completed BIOL1003/BIOL1903/BIOL1993 - Human Biology (or the advanced or SSP counterpart) OR an equivalent at another uni. This will most-likely be the same for the Doctor of Medicine which is to be introduced either next year or the year after.
Also, the
University of Melbourne has always needed students to have
prerequisites in Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Physiology (usually second year subjects), even before their implementation of the Doctor of Medicine over the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery.
