We had to use these awhile ago in maths, although our teacher called them "Math Mates" and they smelt horrible.

lol, my school sells them at teh office for $16.50, they're not very useful, so i didn't buy one. my school teachers call them math aids too, so i assume thats the correct name...

All the schools I've been to have called them "Maths Mates". And yeah, they do smell, lol. Can't you buy one from the school? Or ask your teacher where you could get one?

It's maths aid at my school. Either get one from school, Big W, stationery stores etc. or just ask the teacher.

You can get them from officeworks. There expensive though (about $20 for a piece of plastic with holes cut in it).

Personally I dont think they are worth it, especially because I always draw my diagrams big, and all the shapes are too small for me.

Ditto. Practice using pencil, ruler and drawing shapes and graphs.

I think there are two things you can get, Math-o-mat and Math-aid. One of them has formulas written on it, and this one is NOT allowed to be used during tests and exams. Of course this depends on how strict your school is at exam time. The HSC supervisors will pick it up though.

MathAid doesn't, and tbh it has helped me drawing simple diagrams etc. When you're moving onto more complex stuff however, it's merely a good ruler.

Yes the board states:
Students may take into any mathematics
examination a curve-drawing template, provided
such templates contain no printed formulae other
than equations of simple curves (such as y=x2)
that may be drawn using the template.
