Eh.. the last time i read the christian bible it was all this crap about compassion and helping the poor.

and i've only read parts of a koran, which nonetheless have a similar vibe.

Wow I'm sure all the biblical scholars and christian philosophers missed this? Maybe you can show them and they will see that God is hypocritical because of this never-before-seen argument against christianity?

Do some research/thinking into this, yeah? Not all christians are idiots. Calling God an advocate of these things does nothing to prove the truth value of the worldview or God. Some christians are extremely intelligent and have reasons/justifications for the things that are in the bible.

Well here's some references for you, in no particular order and a VERY small smattering of what's in there, of which ALL of this was demanded by your loving and compassionate god:

1 Samuel 15:2-3 (genocide), Exodus 11:1-12:36 (genocide), Exodus 32:27 (genocide), 1 Samuel 6 (genocide), 1 Samuel 25 (general smiting), Hosea 13:16 (genocide and torture), Numbers 25:16-17 (genocide, rape, more genocide, human sacrifice), 2 Kings 2:23-24 (massacre of children), Judges 11:30-40 (human sacrifice), 2 Samuel 21:1-14 (human sacrifice), Leviticus 27:28-29 (human sacrifice), Judges 3:8/3:14/4:2-3/6:1/13:1 (slavery), Joel 3:8 (slavery), Exodus 21 (beating of slaves), Leviticus 21:19-23 (discrimination against the disabled and torture/death thereof), Isiah 3:17 (victimisation/molestation of women).

And that's just the Old Testament. Dare I go on?

No, because when it is presented, you bring up the whole 'context plz' or 'interpretation' card.

And we've yet to encounter one reason put forth.

No, they're just willfully ignorant.

somethings that humans just cant prove or may never will.

science believes in evolution how man evolved from apes

but in the bible. its god that created everyone in his image.
for eg adam and eve. adam is made from soil and eve is made from adams ribs.

and yet the largest religon in aus is christian / catholic.

I think that it would be easy to "pull refrences" from any bible that support any view. I'm sure there are just as many/more points that say the opposite.

My argument is, is that abrahamic religions are overarchingly dedicated to compassion, etc. and i am yet to see empirical evidence that says otherwise.

No seriously. Go look up those references.

EDIT: I think Richard Dawkins said it best, and with much Biblical reference: "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

We haven't stopped being apes, and that has been 'proved', but anyway..

What does that even mean?

We didn't "have to". We did, and we are (apes).

Well maybe the process of "creation" involved evolving from apes, to homosapian.

In which case, the need for a creator is entirely eliminated.
