Does Dux give you extra bonus points for UNSW or UTS?

Does school captain also give you bonus points as well?

If bonus points are eligible, is the maximum of bonus points still five, or is the maximum five for subjects plus maximum five for extra-curricular activities.
In other words, is it still possible to get a maximum of 10 bonus points at UNSW or UTS providing that you get five from extra-curricular activities and five from getting a band 6 in Physics, Chemistry and Ext1 Maths for engineering.

My friend's brother got dux last year and my friend told me that he got 5 bonus points from dux and 1 from an E3 in ext1 maths for UTS.

Has this happened to anyone before or anyone they know?

Your brother probably got the AAA scholarship which means you get $5k + 5 bonus point
One person from each school gets it and is usually given to the 'top person' going to UNSW

You can get 1 point from being school captain according to the draft EAP program timetable

And yes they do stack with subject bonus points to give a maximum of 10 bonus points, I emailed and asked about it last year

Thank you. It was my friend's brother . If it were my brother I would have already known.
I might be able to get AAA, which I am guessing comes with dux (maybe not depending on other students' university selections according to my careers adviser).

The AAA is only worth 3 from this year on afaik. Afaik there is no equivalent at UTS or for school captain or dux. Both UNSW and UTS have subject bonus points.

If you want to study Engineering and UTS is one of the options you are considering then I highly reccomend you fill in their questionnaire. It's not open yet (check in a few months) but satisfactory responses will result in additional bonus marks and if your ATAR exceeds or is close to the cut off you are likely to get an early offer the day ATARs are released if you completed the survey - definitely an exciting call to get! To be eligible they will tell you that you need to make it your first option by early round cut off but if you wanted to you could change it back for main round after accepting the offer.

It's now $4000. Also, you don't get bonus points; it's, if you're within a certain number of points, you are guaranteed the offer. It's now within 3 ATAR points. Cutoffs are determined after offers have been released. If you are within 3 points of the published cutoff, you will receive the offer. Getting 3 bonus points is different from being within 3 ATAR points. Bonus points are considered in the cutoff calculations. The AAA doesn't contribute to your ATAR, hence your raw ATAR (+ if you have HSC Plus) will be considered in the cutoffs. For most, this won't matter since they have already achieved the ATAR or are clearly within 3 points. For some, they may still miss out of their preference purely because AAA isn't considered in the cutoffs.

In regards to that questionnaire, is it a form type application or just an online quick application. I will try to get all my applications ready asap.

Engo at unsw is lowish 90s, if you have band6s in 6/10 units you shouldn't need 10 bonus points.

Yes, but the highest ATAR in our school in the past 4 years is 89ish.
Highest ever was 97.
