Well I hate to say anything with any socialist ring, but it is clear that south american countries such as Brazil would be very wealthy if their situation was different. They have tonns more resources, exports and people than a country like us.

Although it is fair to look out for our countries interests, should this impair attempts at helping thes countries in that region. That seems to be a moral misadventure there... we are willing to fight the good fight on terrorism and help poverty stricken countries, but when it comes to helping our neighbouring countries we refuse (?) because we dont want them to suceed in securing financial safety for the fear that that might jeopardise our own.
(i know this isnt a political thought, but that is double standard and severely lacking morals/ethics)

We face similar adversities in that we sell our minerals and buy them back once they've been converted into something of more money value...but from what you've said, is that why countries aren't very interested in helping south america to alleviate its debt problems by finanacial assistance or increase trade agreements.

lol. Well, like I said, it was my uneducated opinion, but yeah it's fairly well established that historically the U.S hasn't been too kind to its southern neighbours eg. Panama, backing Pinoce, beating the crap out of the spanish in the area and using the cia to threat/bribe/corrupt various leaders there. Comprehende?
But yeah, seeing as though you asked the question, what is your understandink?

My understanding...the politics of nations lack serious morals, though as the scientists say it is survival of the fittest. I'm on the borderline, finding information... Though why shouldn't a country (each of the developing countries) look out for its best interests. Their primary objective is to manage their country, and if helping another country jeopardises the economy of a country, it also places the people of that country in a bad situation of losing jobs, and decreasing the amount og financial support that a government can provide.

i think...only for the moment though :)

I am in the same thinking

BUT

isn't it the responsibility of rich countries to improve other overseas markets? After all, we already have a nice merket share, and foriegn aid which is given freely will down the line improve economic relationships so that we can tap into their previously unrealised economic potential and efficient use of resources.

Isn't that what the US has been doing for the past several decades...and is doing so right NOW... :(
