That would be really unfair on your future 'girlfriend'...Alex18 said:In all honesty, i am gay. Straight people have no idea how difficult life is being a homosexual. And i think, for the rest of my life, i'm going to act straight.... for the sake of my family and friends.
he makes a good point. what is the purpose of marriage? most people getting married arnt religous in the least.anti-mathmite said:No, but marriage between homosexuals is not normal. It has no purpose at all.. None!
i know this answer is dodgy, but the sole purpose to marriage is to have your own family.. it's part of growing up..im an idiot said:he makes a good point. what is the purpose of marriage? most people getting married arnt religous in the least.
Xayma said:At the very least a predisposition (I believe, and backed up by research) towards homosexuality from genetic influences in some people and natal conditions in some as well.
Mothers' genetic skew linked to gay sons
Survival of genetic homosexual traits explained...Only 4% of the mothers without gay sons showed this skewing, compared with 14% of mothers with at least one gay son. Among mothers with two or more gay sons, the figure was 23%....
Also, although the human study is controversial...Mothers of gay men produced an average of 2.7 babies compared with 2.3 born to mothers of straight men. And maternal aunts of gay men had 2.0 babies compared with 1.5 born to the maternal aunts of straight men.

Their findings also support earlier findings that when mothers have several sons, the younger ones are progressively more likely to be gay. This might be due to effects changes to the mother’s immune system with each son they carry.

But Camperio-Ciani calculates the contribution of this effect to male homosexuality at 7% at most. So together, he says, the “maternal” and “immune” effects only account for 21% of male homosexuality, leaving 79% of the causation still a mystery.
Homosexuality is biological, suggests gay sheep study
There are many studies in animals which indicates homosexual realtionships between them again supporting biological reasoning.A study of gay sheep appears to confirm the controversial suggestion that there is a biological basis for sexual preference.
The work shows that rams that prefer male sexual partners had small but distinct differences in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, when compared with rams that preferred to mate with ewes. ...
Also if you can get access to the Janurary 17, 2004 copy there is an article entitled: The in-crowd: same-sex relationships are not a biological dead end. They are a glue that helps hold many animal societies together, and a fatal flaw in one of Darwin's central ideas, argues evolutionary ecologist Joan Roughgarden. (Charles Darwin) Joan Roughgarden.
That is interesting.
Acting straight for exmaple, my friend starts talking about this girl he sees across the road... and i'm like, "yea, damn she looks fine" "oh, she's pretty", where i have absolutely no attraction. Another thing i hide from people are the things i love and do. For instance, i dont like cars and i hate driving, and i watch talk shows like Oprah.Xayma said:Alex18, what do you mean by act straight? Not hit on males around family and friends?
That is true. I don't really know what to do in the future, and my parents are expecting me to have a girlfriend and start a family so they can see their grand children.Lhyviathan said:That would be really unfair on your future 'girlfriend'...
The purpose of marriage is to commit yourself to spending the rest of your life with your partner, and start a family by adopting a child. As Nesty has said, it is part of growing up and being happy. I think gay marriages should be allowed across the globe. It's just that gays are a minority and that's why we are unaccepted. Hopefully, the world understands that gay marriages are just two ordinary people who are in love. They just appear to be two men.anti-mathmite said:No, but marriage between homosexuals is not normal. As Xayma has showed, homosexuality is genetic and has affected my brain. It's is definately not a choice. If i had a choice, i would choose to be straight and live a 'normal' life, they way most people would accept. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Life being gay is extremely difficult and it's full of living with lies. I think discriminating people by the sexual preference is worse than discriminating people by their skin colour. Most people would not want to socialise with gays and they have parents telling them how they should live their lives (get a girl, start a family etc)hYperTrOphY said:In relation to people's comment about homosexuality being a natural thing, and comparing it to hair colour and skin colour - I disagree. From what I have read, science has proven that homosexuality is NOT genetic. It is a predisposition caused by a variety of social/mental and other factors.
Homosexuality is therefore not genetic and from what I understand, can be 'cured'..
if it is not in the genes then why would anyone WANT to be gay? if there's so much looking down already exist here in the forum, think about what they go thru everyday at school/work..hYperTrOphY said:In relation to people's comment about homosexuality being a natural thing, and comparing it to hair colour and skin colour - I disagree. I know straight people who can't stand driving and watch Oprah.Alex18 said:Acting straight for exmaple, my friend starts talking about this girl he sees across the road... and i'm like, "yea, damn she looks fine" "oh, she's pretty", where i have absolutely no attraction. Yes, like i said earlier... being gay is not easy at all. All of us like to express our views and opinions openly. But when i do so , i sometimes get criticised and get comments like " you watch Oprah? That's for ladies", "you prefer purple shirts than black shirts? That's so gay." Being able to live an honest life without being discriminated is impossible.Nesty said:if it is not in the genes then why would anyone WANT to be gay? if there's so much looking down already exist here in the forum, think about what they go thru everyday at school/work..
What i would like to know from everybody here in this forum is to tell me why gay's dont deserve a marriage, and why we are being discriminated.Xayma said:I know straight people who can't stand driving and watch Oprah.
I just hate the term it generalises too much (both homo and heterosexuals).
