AMEN to that! like in the text book theres like one paragraph on ex urbanisation and im going how the hell am i going to rite an entire booklet on it? i ended up riting the most ridiculous stuff i cud think of like the pollution impact that exurbanisation cud have etc. only ended up with 3 pages on that :mad1: but the other essays were awesum. 6 and 6 and a half pages for q20 and q21 respectively.joas said:question 20 was a fuckin stupid question!
thecan said:for the buildings question i got c) 3pm.
reasoning:
firstly, as corectly restated, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, but because we were in vancouver (and west coast city), we are probably not used to it cause we are all east coast people. (ie, in Sydney the sun rises over the water, whilst in Vancouver the sun sets over the water)
the shadows of the buildings were on our side of the page, as in closest to us, if u get what i mean. since the photo was looking North West (as answered in the previous question), the fact that we can actually see the shadows of the buildings, must mean that the shadows are on the EASTERN side of the buildings, and that therefore the sun is on the west of the buildings...therefore its in the afternoon
following???
the next thing to consider is whether it is 3pm or 7pm?? now taking the logical approach and noticing that there it quite alot of snow on the mountains in the background, one would assume its winter(ish). if its winter, and being relativly high up in latitude, there is now way it would even be light at 7pm at night.
therefore the answer is c) 3pm

- What type of map was it?
- Was vertical exaggeration 0.4 or 2.5?
- How are we expected to fill a booklet with ONE urban dynamic?
Personally thought it was quite a challenging exam. Could've done better myself but over it now.
You gotta use the shadowssimon1989 said:i took the paper home and i still can't work out how to do that time of day question by looking at the photo and topo map. the only thing i could think of was shadows but that could be a cloud or something. any ideas anyone
