What question did everyone find was the hardest?
Last part of projectile motion.

Stuffed up 2 marks for part (i) there didn't read the question properly.
Then stuffed up the last part because I was confused with the equations given. Looking back now like ****.

hi all, for the graphing questions Q11 D) ii) "sketch teh graph y=f(x) showing all asymptotes.
i didn't mention that y=0 is an asymptote but i draw the graph correctly, will they mark me down for not saying it? becuase technically i did "show" it was an asymptote as the dotted line "is" there but covered up by y-axis
Should be fine, it was only two marks anyway so they can't be too picky.

I thought it was pretty difficult too, and I felt pretty well prepared for the exam before I went in. I didn't even bother with binomial theorem, I never understood it anyway... Goodbye 80-85% average for the entire year in MX1 :/ I think I actually failed this one...

That question was gold. Originally I tried to fudge it, but turns out I left a v into the orignal equation which therefore allowed me to use part ii)

Had you 'bothered' you would have had a good chancing of getting part I and possibly part ii.
The first two parts are e2 material though. The last part is probably high e3 material. The polynomial one was e4 stuff and I got the wrong answer.
The induction was gold for 4-unit students. Harder 3-unit inequalities.

And the funny thing......the probability questions were exactly the same level of difficulty as the 4-unit ones on Tuesday.

You just need to scab off as many marks as possible if you aren't sure of how to do the question.

I think overall it was a fairly tough 3U exam especially compared to last years, but not that unbelievably so when you compare it to some of the exams from the early 2000s. Up to question 14 was fairly easy, and the induction was fine too. i'm estimating about a 56-57/70. how do you guys think that would align? from what i've seen i'd guess about a 46/50? or am i being too hopeful? :p

I know these are constantly being asked. But after looking at carrotsticks solutions I'm pretty much certain I got 47/70. Any idea what reported exam mark for that would be?

Guys so im really hoping I get as high as possible ahead of my rival, he got 58/70 and I got 62/70. Will there be much of a difference in scaled marks? what do you guys think both marks will go to?

Difference of 2 I reckon.
You'll get a 95. Your friend will get a 93.

Just guesstimationaries though.
